While farting around in the 1 ft snow, big berms I made with my plow and terrain hazards, I noticed the front wheel drive makes all the difference in being able to navigate them. Numerous times i could not get the A3 to budge, drop the front axle in and boom it's golden. Did notice that all the...
Stalwart, have you had the Scorpion in the snow? I just got home in 1ft snow on my road with my M1009(thank the Lord I didn't have my mercury mystique) Was wondering in a situation where they don't plow the roads, how much snow could the tank get through? For that matter how much standing snow...
I got my Deuce out of Little Falls, 70 miles from my house. Got my 1009 out of Sparta.
Hopefully you just need two new batteries. I previewed a bunch of 1008's in Little Falls before I bid on the 1009. I would've took any of them, but they went too high for my liking.
Strange you need an EUC for...
I have 5 acres and no zoning crap to put up with. They're that heavy huh? Why is your rig so light?
Okay I'll have to look into the Spartan then, are they as available as these?
I want Armour, just don't want to spend 60K at this moment in time. LOVE YOUR ARMOUR BTW. That's just awesome. LOL...
How about posting a pic or two of your wheels? Are the shields all there, rim weights all there?
You don't need to replace the valve stems, you can air up the tires manually from the valve stem on the wheel valve.
That's why the valve is there. You can either use the CTIS to inflate/deflate the...
That is a perfectly apt description for the M1008/M1009. You have to want one just for the fun of it or the feeling you want to spend money maintaining it. LOL Most of the posts are dead on IMO. You want one, ADD it to your fleet, don't replace a newer more dependable comfortable vehicle.
Stalwart, what do you know about the FV432/436 APC's? Looks like I could get one shipped to my house for sub 20K, are these a good "starter" piece of Armor?
It would be nice if you could buy the small pinion gear separately. Mine was stripped, and looking at it, would've been an easy drill out the rivets replace pinion gear with flat headed bolts and nuts instead of spending $100 on a new complete regulator. Designed obsolesce IMO.
I haven't seen any advantages in my 1009. It's loud, it's cost almost as much as I bought it for in repairs, no radio, no AC. It's fun though so far.
I'm naming mine the Rattler. A mechanic heard me telling another the make and model and sure enough that fits the bill on these engines.
Yeah if it works. Does yours light up, press the button for highway and it starts airing up? 45lbs is the highway setting for the CTIS. If you mean can you change the standard settings, No unless you can reprogram the chip in the head. If you want to go higher you need to inflate them by hand...
Saw that before, good method!
Grommet is fine, oring is leaking. I'm guessing you replied by phone, Silicone was intended as lubricant for the oring? Have the rest of the tools, no problems dismounting, just getting this one tire leak taken care of. They took care of one of two on the first...
One of the tools I don't have. Of course. :) Well I took it back to the shop for a redo, they told me the first time they did it they wirebrushed it, had lots of RTV sealant in the groove. Guess Army mechanics try the same stuff some of us do..... Got another new oring yesterday, will head...
Thanks. I think it's the reverse though. I turned the nut almost to the top of the thread making the spring more tight, making it very hard to screw on the canister and my steering got a bunch better. Not like a car, but better.
What exactly is the purpose of the regulator? I see a lot of...
I have a vinyl bed cover on my deuce, both "hatches" have the stitching torn out around the edge. I want to sew them back up, my feminine side is coming out.
Seriously, The thread is thicker than the stuff my wife purchased to do the repairs.
Anyone know what thread I should be looking for...
