I'm unclear how the separation of 24V and 12 in these trucks works. Can I jump a weak battery with my 12V vehicle to get a M1009 started or do I need to use the 24V slave connector?
OK I'm confused. Isn't it spinning when you are driving too? Curious what would get damaged and how? I flat towed an 88 Ford ranger for thousands of miles behind dumptrucks, tractors ect delivering them, didn't hurt the ranger. Different lubrication system? If I did flat tow it would be 200...
I was all set up to do it myself with a rental trailer from a local place, cost would've been about $200 overall, but was leary using my 2500 Dodge(gas engine) with a class3 hitch for the weight of the vehicle and trailer without a load distributing hitch. Had someone pull it out of Sparta to...
WOW looks mint! I almost got a 1008 out of Little Falls this past week. Got a M1009 out of Sparta, still trying to figure out how I'm gonna get it home. Was going to ship it, then was going to drive it home, then decided to rent a trailer and pull it home, then came to my senses it would be iffy...
Thanks Gentlemen, I've decided to rent a trailer and DIY. Yeah $350 was pretty good and I got a quote of $325 even, but I don't really like the unexpected problems with a third party for a small MV.
I'm in need of someone to ship a M1009 from Sparta,WI to Zimmerman, MN. About 207 miles. Any suggestions on haulers? I've got one quote of $350 so far.
Probably as bad as surprise I'm going to get when I pick up the unpreviewed M1009 I won out of Sparta, I have a feeling it's going to be a worse rust bucket than I could see in the pics.
Yes it was. There was a paper on the floor that said "engine blown" So they way got hosed. I was wondering why GL didn't have driven to lot in the posting, till I saw that lying there!
Geez I hope not. Last I saw the A2 with the bashed up front end was over $2100...... I wish I could've said something, but when I previewed it there was a paper lying on the floor said engine blown.
The A3's would need most of their tires replaced, they were terribly side wall cracked from...
That's the best one but all were close contenders!!!! haha....
As for rabbits chewing wiring, they prefer when it's live. I've had a few litter trained ones in my homes, and it's amazing my home never went up in smoke. They do love plastic wire.
How do you know if you need to replace that stuff? I don't see any leaks anywhere on mine, except a coupls coolant leaks I took care of and air leak from axle vent that I know I need to replace a seal or two apparently.
I've found it doesn't matter if the light works or not, if my parking brake is on, you know it. If the opposite were true there's no need for a light anyway..... :)
I apologize if I broke the rules, I didn't think this thread would be an issue since I have not posted anything about the conditions of any items photographed here. Just found some troops humor to be excellent.
