    Question on Doghead relay

I stopped at NAPA to buy the relay, of course they didn't have it on hand. The guy said it's a 12V 200 amp relay. Is this for the 12V conversion or is it satisfactory for the standard 24V application? Thanks.

    Generic batteries for M1009

Thanks. Mine has stud type cables so that works even better. That's pretty rasonable price for that much CCA! Well i returned the two batteries that weren't even close. They matched up a set part# 31-5 on the top of the batteries, a little over $100 a battery 950CCA top posts.

    Generic batteries for M1009

After heading to Oreilly's auto parts and having a side post battery put on the counter then two top posts the same size when I said it's not a side post, getting them home to find they're not even close, WHAT GENERIC batteries are the same size to fit in the trays? I don't want to spend $200 on...

    Sparta/Fort McCoy Preview/Pickup/Storage

1 Here. I'd think it was a combination of business and hobby. This gent is a miltary guy, has a nice shop truck(1008? with shop back) will store the vehicle after getting it off McCoy for a short time. Seems like the real deal to me, never failed to offer me help if anything goes wrong. I took a...

    Sparta/Fort McCoy Preview/Pickup/Storage

This is the gentleman that removed my 1009 from McCoy on supershort notice when I was sweating transportation. He went the extra mile to fix a flat, update me and the mrs. on every defect on the vehicle. I recommend Jeff for removal from McCoy. I drove my M1009 home 200 miles after his...

No Driving Off Base-New Recovery Rules?

Not sure who that is directed at, but I don't think there are too many people that will drive a MV without insurance. Unregistered, well there's lots of states without the ability to register in the 10 day window/and/or without title. If they are concerned about liability, simply require proof...

No Driving Off Base-New Recovery Rules?

Wrong choice of word in my post, I meant cost as you noted. If you don't notice when you bid, that's the fact, you're out of luck. Frankly if they were customer friendly they'd have a longer pickup window. 10 business days really gets my stress level going. Most of us work for a living and...

What temps is it a good idea to put one of those on?

No Driving Off Base-New Recovery Rules?

Don't know about that. It will drive up the price or send more to scrappers IMO.

No Driving Off Base-New Recovery Rules?

If it's an insurance issue, why not just require proof of insurance. You'd have to be a total fool to drive anything without insurance. I drove both the vehicles I got home, A3 from Little Falls(70 miles) and the M1009 200 miles from Sparta. Neither had registration(my tough luck if stopped)...

    Dump Bed Kit Installation

lmao!!!..... IronHorse, could you provide a link for the kit? I imagine this would work for an A3 too, I was thinking about a dumper for my A3 since I looked at it. Looks pretty straight forward for a conversion.

    Recovered 3 Deuces today

I like the Bobbed deuce! In fact I like them all, but that one better. I would love an A2 but I just got home yesterday with an M1009, the wife only has so much patience for my disease.

M1009 fuel consumpation, what is your MPG?

I got 200+ miles on a half a tank my first drive. Can't give an exact number obviously until I fill the tank. Almost all interstate miles at 65-70 MPH.

Cylinder locks for doors and ignition?

HAHA that's funny.. unlike the A3...... Yeah I've downloaded them, have to admit I haven't gotten through them all, but did have a problem with my gen2 light not going out and reading the tm to blip the throttle and the light goes out. If it doesn't contact my supervisor.......My wife said my...

    That's perfect. Thank you.

Cylinder locks for doors and ignition?

Does anyone make a set that uses the same key for the doors and ignition for a blazer? Almost locked myself out as my ignition key doesn't work for the door and the only key I got.

    M1009 recovery went well

Special thanks to JBL for retrieving it from the base and holding it a couple days inspecting it and fixing a tire ect. Started with a jump, runs great, lights all work. Fueled it up at Sparta, ran home between 65-70, a little over 200 miles, gauge is reading 1/2 tank. Call me lucky, 2 for 2...
