Working on winch drive. *COMPLETED, **MORE** ADDED PICS!*

Ken, I have two deuce Garwoods on my M715. The rear is PTO driven off the NP205 with a Muncie reduction PTO unit. The front I originally set up on hydraulics. I screwed up and didn't size the reservoir correctly and the system never worked well. I then picked up a 3053A PTO and ran a shaft...

Working on winch drive. *COMPLETED, **MORE** ADDED PICS!*

Today I spent two hours laying under the truck trying to figure out how or what to do to the driver's side exhaust pipe on the CAT that originally come straight down from the manifold flange about 12-14", then a mandrel bend 90*, then straight back until it clears the back of the spring hanger...

Turning up the power on a Deuce

So fellas...I read a couple of posts about people inquiring about more power on the Multifuel Diesels, but nobody will post a direct answer. I think we all old enough to understand that if we get greedy, we'll destroy the motor. Give up the key...and maybe exhaust temp numbers or tips to tell...

    m35a2 questions/repower

I think I'mthe buddy there. Yeah, 3208, it was difficult fit with steering and big fat V8 design. Would probably repower again with inline CAT or Big Cam Cummins. The big V was difficult, but I'm REALLY please with the results!!! **really...I think I just want a truck with a JAKE on it...

    Trying...Not...To...Spend... ...Will...Weakening!

What's '62 crane shipper boom?' Is that good or bad? Yes, its got the R6602 in it and a muffler the size of a 30 gallon barrel! :) It's got some rust in it, of course...but is in decent overall condition. The area on either side of the big rear winch is littered with old pulley blocks and...

    Trying...Not...To...Spend... ...Will...Weakening!

I found this old bugger wedged in about a year ago. Called the guy, he'll sell. I could really use it...but it's tought to justify the lump at one time. It is a deal though...but...eh, you all know. <img...

Wheel Adapter? *hope this hasn't been recent..."

The Michelin XL's are a directional wheel. They put them on like that so that you can't tell whether it's coming or going from the tracks. Mine will be all the correct way.

Wheel Adapter? *hope this hasn't been recent..."

M1075, will the center hole of that combat wheel fit over the outside of the deuce studs? If not, how close do you estimate it is? I have an idea! THANKS!

Wheel Adapter? *hope this hasn't been recent..."

HEY! Can somebody please do something for me? I'm working on CAD design for a spacer in a CAD-CAM program and for stud length (and to try to stay ahead of headaches) I need to know what the thickness is of the wheel mounting flange on the hub of a 5 ton. The part of the hub that the wheel...

Those look about like the right wheels! Even the web site says about the CTIS system that the 'A3's have. <img...

    Opinions on Detroit Placement.

In a perfect world of a spare $1400 to dump in the truck, I'd go front axle Detroit, front axle Selectros, and middle axle Detroit. With those crappy rounded NDT's that don't have much contact patch, I've notice the truck has a natural tendency to plow anyhow. Put a load on it full out the bed...

    pinion brakes

Big Mike, thanks, but I've long since swapped out the NP200 for a cooler running and PTO port NP205. I'm soon to change the jackshaft and was thinking of putting an eBrake there. Good info, thank you! I've been debating about putting an ebrake on the rear Rockwell's pinion or on the T-case...

    pinion brakes

HERE is an Isuzu rotor. Arvin Meritor part number. I found this about a year ago. Very expensive rotor. 'U' shape Rotor is supposed to clear the hub on the center but mine had a little extra casting that needed machined out. The caliper was the reason I didn't go ahead with the other side...

New guy to SS, my deuce mods so far..*pics*

The older detroits really sound like their humming along due to their 2 stroke design. I'm not sure if it's accurate to compare them, but they both do seem to shine with some rpm to them. Still, don't discount the around 150 cubic inch increase...and the added torque that inherently goes with...

DR, My pump had two fittings busted off in it and I needed that postion to tension the belts up to the compressor. I packed that slinky full of grease!!! HA-HA!!!! Really. If I come across a couple small pillow blocks maybe I'll pull the pump and put an idler looking idler there. Or if I go...

M1075, appreciate the offer. I have 6, 395/85R20 XL's to put on these wheels: Ain't they purdy? :) Now you guys know why I'm looking to slap them on...

    Opinions on Detroit Placement.

I don't think the locker would last too long with the 1600x20's, not for the lockers sake of not being strong enough, but when you snap an axle, ALL the remaining torque get's instantly transferred to the remaining axle. Whack goes the locker.
