Decent but I would caution everyone not to assume it is the "10th vehicle". There is a coding system which as been covered in various threads before here on Steel Soldiers. 6 is reserved for the commander/leader. So HQ6 is the commander. A16 would be the A Company, 1st platoon, platoon...

How many 9 series trucks are left for auction??

Someone else may be in a better position in the near future to confirm but was told DRMO has a new computer system that came on line last year. Some vehicles are "lost in etherspace" because of system glitches. The field folks have reported the vehicles and the system shows they are report to...

    Back home in Kentucky.

Yep, it must be Army. Keep in mind though that GL works for DLA (Defense Logistics Agency). Key word here is Defense, so just because it was turned into the DRMO (which is part of DLA) on a USAF base; it does not mean it was a USAF truck.

How many 9 series trucks are left for auction??

Same as the M35A2 situation. There was a thread on here about the excess situation with soft skinned vehicles in the military and it had a news report and quotes from the military about getting rid of the older stuff. It would be very easy to say "Make this disappear" but there is a lot of...

    Back home in Kentucky.

250 is the administrative number assigned by the unit to the vehicle. It is internal to the unit how they came up with this number. It should not be taken to mean that this is the 250th vehicle in the unit.

How many 9 series trucks are left for auction??

That ain't gonna happen. 99.5% is probably closer on the M35A2's is probably closer with virtually zero in active service (maybe at a school unit or in a base support function). But actually here is the problem with the question. There is a huge difference between active service, awaiting...

    2013 VIN INFO Thread

I would not take this serial number for gosple. I would check the frame and validate the serial number before registering/titling it. It probably should be a 23-##### number. Organization: 1150TH TRANSPORTATION COMPANY Location: FT SHERIDAN, IL Nomenclature: TRUCK...

I suck at the TMs... Need some guidance on removing starter and broken bolt

You may think you suck at the TM's but you're doing quite well as a mechanic. I on the other hand would have done only what was in the TM and then when the bolt broke, hauling it over to a real mechanic to drill the thing out. I suck at being a mechanic but I'm above average on the TMs.

    Is this bolt missing?

OK, we need to start charging when a person asks this question. It has become the CUCV key question of the deuce world.

    Tower Park

There is a info thread and a buy/sell/trade thread. Multiple threads on the same subject for the same purpose are not (and I am in concurrence) allowed. The G503 has numerous threads on the event--to the point of dilution and still not much talk. It's not the fact that the event is not...

Yep, sure is. If you go to the super top secret government access computer, you can find out what they are. Just in case nobody has informed you secretly how to access that, just this once I'm going to risk it and inform you---BUT DON'T TELL ANYONE OR LET ANYONE KNOW I TOLD YOU! Go to your...
