Okay, so I am flirting with coincedence. Went to start truck today and it isn't building any air pressure. The crazy thing did start building immediately yesterday after I put the bed back down and now with it down it won't build a pound of air. Going to get a new air dryer as that is cheaper...
So I cannot build any air pressure and since these need rebuilt every few years anyway I thought I would eliminate the air dryer. Here is what I found.
PURest by Haldex. A seller on some bay is selling them for a bit less than the rebuild kits to rebuild my Pure Air Plus unit. Only 3 holes to...
That seller that sells them on the bay for $7.50 ea. just sent me a replacement even though they said no returns. Good seller. I asked if they were all the same manufacturer so I could get matching brightness/color and was willing to buy another and they just sent me another no charge. Highly...
I was lubing my truck to day and noticed a grease fitting on the bottom of the steering box by it's input shaft. The only leak this truck has is that seal where the steering shaft goes in the box. Figured maybe some lucas power steering sealant/revitalizer would go in when it needs added to. So...
M929A2 Don't Compress Air With Bed Up?
1.) So today between the rains I was lubing my newly acquired dump truck and had the bed up to access more and let light under. I wanted to move forward an inch or so to gain access to the u-joint grease fittings on the propeller shaft between the...
Glad you got it home. My ctis was all flashing with a low tire and I put it on run flat for a couple minutes and it aired up the low tire and then I put it on highway and it is good to go.
Got the two at $7.50 each and one was ok and the other one had one of the leds only working it's upper half. Still don't have a 100% color/brighntness match as every working one I have now is made by different manufacturers and have different brightnesses and colors. Still better than having one...
Got that $15 led in yesterday. Looked last night and it looks a little different in brightness and color. Just a bit dimmer and more toward orange instead of bright red in color. I am just a bit to picky on little things like this but I am glad I ordered two more at the same time from that...
Well, I got the floats from jeephut yesterday and they were a perfect fit. They seem well made of a heavy plastic. Both gauges now work. I think I may just order one extra for on down the road just in case one fails in a few years.
Jim
Well, I do remember you have to have so many hours road time but I cant remember how many. (The joy of taking a class; just leave details to them.) You will need the parking lot time practicing the maneuvers as the test consists of 2 out of three backing maneuvers. Straight back, parallel...
Mach, I got my cdl only a year ago in the great buckeye state and it was pretty easy. tested in gnadenhutten. he even has a school. The guy is very pro gun and very pro military! Wear something in your favor. Took the training in a w.va. school so Ohio has no rules on the schooling. Only the...
Def take heed to that.
So have you found out for sure that it is or isn't shifting twice? These babys are geared as low as the civvy I drive and the trans is a chunk of gold. Precious that is! They shift so smooth. Mine has nearly 90k miles and still super smooth and I'm betting your Real...
I have a 86 civvy 3/4 ton that I drive a heck of a lot. It has the same transmission (th400). It (the whole drivetrain) is geared rediculously low like the cucv. Like was previously said, you can't feel it shift from 1 to 2 unless you shut up your shotgun, and radio, and really listen (feel)...
Nice pic jarhead. Yesterday I got my air pressure up and cracked the line to make sure I had air at the horns and good to go. Hooked up the continuity tester up to the 25 wire at the box in jarhead's pic and the 25 wire at the horn and tested to be a good wire. So I ran a wire from the 25 at the...
The reason I ask is because the civvy semi flaps are less than $30/set and I can't even find the real ones like came on my truck. I would rather have the OEM ones if someone knows a good source.
Jim
Good call on getting them regardless. All insurance companies dont cover that. Esp if its only liability. Anyone got good ideas on getting them holes in the middle so it can flex easier to hook the flaps up for dumping?
