Anybody think about using a jamb switch in both doors to turn the light on, just like in your car or civi truck? I'm going to experiment with that idea.

No, The fixture case requires a good ground. The connector on the case is for the positive.

If it's a dropside, it's a M35A2C. Non-dropside is a M35A2. I sincerely doubt it's an M35A1 with a 1980 contract year date.
