Bruce, I met with Pete, John was there but he was busy. Pete gave me the golf cart tour of the whole property and showed me everything there. BTW - he said "tell Bruce to come pick up his two dump trucks that are taking up space". :)
Picked up some LMTV parts for the next project once it...
I ran a red light once, years ago, I was on the road without sleep for a LONG time and I wasn't aware of what I was doing until I was in the middle of the intersection. I "awoke" horrified and scared to death until I made it through the junction, luckily there was no cross-traffic that day and...
Going to John Winslow's place in Halifax, NC tomorrow. Wish I could bring a lot of stuff back for others as well, but I am going with only the Durango, and no trailer. Not a lot of room except for the stuff I am picking up there. Will post pics upon my return, and yes I will be going back at...
Sorry I didn't see this thread sooner, I was in Winchester VA most of the afternoon/evening, just got home a little while ago. Glad the deuce is parked out of the way, and that you are okay.
I'll be around this weekend on and off, if you need a hand doing some field repairs, give me a ring...
I gave away a M103 trailer frame a year or so ago, I wanted to salvage the lunette but couldn't take it off. Guess I was a little late, I could've used this info!
Great news on the new acquisition! I think you're going to enjoy restoring that, I know I always get a kick out of out-of-the-norm vehicles. EVERYONE has seen a Willys MB or MUTT, you see so many of them at shows, unless they are really unique they get boring after a while. But THIS - this is...
$500 seems right to me. You have a rare bird there, but man you'll have a lot of parts to find, and sheet metal to repair. Still, a GTB Burma Jeep is a pretty cool find.
For a fuze box, see this thread I started some time ago. The old M10 fuze box and the newer M332 fuze box are nearly identical.

A 20 foot one is fine. You will pay through the rear exit portal for the 50 foot one, and I saw a 100 foot one once. Can't remember how many Benji's that cost, but it must've been a lot.
Don't be surprised if the gun ring has been removed by the time you pick up. They are pretty anal about taking them off, but once in a while you get lucky, so cross your fingers.
I agree to disagree:
Gloss black more easily shows the imperfections in the surface the paint is on.
Flat black more easily shows the imperfections in the paint job itself.
Try painting anything with spray cans of flat black. When the whole paint job is done, you're gonna see every...
Another pic of YANKEEDEUCE's black truck.
I second the thought that painting a truck flat black is not easy. The darker the flat color, the more you see the imperfections in the paint job.
There was a gent in western PA that had a website, since taken down, of his M37 and GRC-46 restoration. I saved a picture from his site a while back of how the unit is supposed to look mounted on the -37.
