to answer about whether it's hard on the bearings or not: what does the TM say?? does it address using singles in the rear?? the only reason i ask is because flipping the hubs and running singles was "approved" for our motorpool.
if the TM doesn't cover or address singles, then i'm not...
bumper numbers are how a vehicle is identified, regardless if it's a cucv, deuce, M1 abrams, or Apache. if it was a unit vehicle, it would have some unit designation on it. since it doesn't, it's possible that it could have been a civilian contractor or DOD truck for an organization like DRMO...
but speaking of 395s, what's a good source for wheels to fit these w/ the 2 1/2 ton 6 lug patern?? i have some that i need to mate to some axles for a project truck. 2-piece wheels w/ a bead lock are "custom" w/ a "custom" price to go along w/.
what WOULD work are some M35A3 wheels...
