    Mep-003a fuel filter help.

Correct, there is not supposed to be any big washers in there. Just the spring seat underneath and the 3 finger centering device on the top.

    803 not generating

It's also interesting that the TM shows the flywheel and ring gear as 2 separate parts. So maybe there is a totally different ONAN PN for the complete assembly not shown in the TM?? I also see that GM lists the "Flywheel" as being 12" x 12" x 6" and 2 pounds?? It's more like 60lbs. So maybe...

    803 not generating

Its funny that no matter what PN listed above you research, not much info is available. and no pictures. Here's where I got my info. https://greenmountaingenerators.com/product/mep802a-mep803a-flywheel-onan-186-6467/ Green mountain lists 186-6467 as the Onan PN for an 802/803 flywheel for $995...

    803 not generating

A new flywheel isn't gonna be cheap unless you can find someone parting out a machine. Here's a new one but it's almost $300... which is still better than the $1000 GM Generators wants! https://www.smallenginesprodealer.com/part-onan-186-6467/ There are others available, but more expensive. Just...

    MEP002 Governor Issues?

Nice work Mitch. With how bad those injectors were combined with the governor being messed up I can't believe you were actually able to use that machine at all You should be good to go now, 7500W is pretty impressive for an 002, they usually max out quite a bit lower than that!

    MEP002 Governor Issues?

Something sounds wrong with your star adjuster nut. The spring should be about 3 turns up from the bottom. If it is too high you will have too little Governor control ( and excessive droop ) and your throttle cable adjustment may also not be within the correct range. When you move the star wheel...

MEP 002a Not producing Electricity, I am looking for someone who is familiar with the 002a to work on it.

Could also be a bad CVT , as well as a half dozen other things.

    Hello from CT, M831A Question

As LITD mentioned earlier, the 50Hz. machines were clearly advertised as such. The title of the listing was different and the tags clearly showed 50Hz. and were advertised as 50 hz Export machines not Mep-831's. It will be interesting to see if you received the wrong machine or if they mixed up...

Woke up to Orange Sun, Raining Ash & No Power

I would suggest to start with the temperature sensor and the air louvers. Make sure the louvers are opening correctly etc. The failure mode sounds like either over temp, faulty temp switch, or faulty oil pressure switch. I'm leaning more towards the temp switch in your case.

803a won't hold frequency under load

If it's hunting up and down rather than just bogging down I would tend to suspect the governor droop is set too sensitive. Check the TM, the drop screw ( allen head screw ) is located under the 3/8" pipe plug in the timing cover, just forward of the throttle lever. The TM explains how to adjust it.

003A Down. Had to buy another generator.

I think Chainbreaker has it correct. I bet when your IP got stuck last time, the plunger guide skipped 90* on the plunger itself. I had an 002 do exactly the same thing. It would start and run for a few minutes, maybe 10 at most. They it would slowly die out and could not restart until it...

A tale of two timing buttons

So about a year ago I had acquired a M1061 radio trailer with 2 beautiful MEP-003AASK's, one with 3 hours, the other with 6. One of which I did a nice restoration on, which I had posted pictures of. ( all it really needed was paint work and the typical fuel system work from sitting since 1989 )...

New -002A Owner looking for guidance

There's just the crankshaft under the blower wheel, no stub shaft, no other pieces in there. I have no idea why they wanted the threads so deeply recessed, but for some odd reason, that's the way they did it.

    Long term storage question?

Uh oh! the picture you show is something I know all too well! Broken plunger on a "Non-Serviceable" American Bosch PSU injection pump. Unfortunately, unless you have a spare in your hands, you are going to have to replace the injection pump with an Ambac M-50 pump. There are no parts available...

New -002A Owner looking for guidance

Crusty, the center bolt is the only fastener holding on the blower wheel. I would retap the 5/16" to either 10mm or 3/8" Then start over with your puller. The one I made was 1/2" tool steel with a 1/2" fine thread bolt in the center. I was tightened down against the blower with the 5/16"...

New -002A Owner looking for guidance

The 002's are designed for a pair of 2HN batteries which can still be found at Tractor Supply. Personally I always just get 51R batteries for 002's. They are just about the same size and very common for pretty much every Honda on the road from the 90's through the late 2000's and possibly more.

New -002A Owner looking for guidance

Guy, don't beat yourself up. For a moment I thought I may have given Crusty the same mis-information because I know for a fact that the 802/803 DOES have a left hand thread and I thought I may have mistakenly said the same about the 002/003 while talking to Crusty on PM. Unfortunately we all...

    Mep002a 208 instead of 240v

Hold on, go back to the original post. Why are you using L2-L3 if you are set in 120/240 mode?? You should have 240V between L1 and L3 and 120 between L1-L0 and L3-L0 L2 is not is play unless you're in 208 mode. Was that a misprint in your description or are you hooked up incorrectly? Also...
