Anyone here ever put a CB radio in their deuce? Can other listeners hear you over the sound of the engine? Is there a noise-quieting CB radio out there that can filter out a lot of the background noise?

I have some spare numbers you can have - you pay the shipping. You need 5 each side to hold the "C" plate on.

Any bolts loose on the tranny, holding it to the engine? Any cracks in the tranny housing? Sounds like some of the gears inside the tranny got screwed up and out of alignment.

Okay, maybe I was unfair. Let me recant my previous statement, and make this one. The Haflinger is the perfect street-legal pickup for a Prius owner. :razz: Good luck if you get into an accident with a large vehicle, or a truck, on the highway. I'll keep my deuce, thanks.

There already are dollies like that, that were military issue. There was a single-axle M198 which was rated at 8 tons, and the dual-axle M199 that was rated at 18 tons. Both were very rugged. You might want to seek one of these out.

Took a ride in the deuce from Front Royal VA up to Chambersburg PA today to pick up my new trailer. It will soon be stripped down into its components - the genset is going to be fixed, the trailer is going to AMG, and someone else has already called for all the laundry equipment...

The only Unimog-looking thing we use is a SEE (Small Emplacement Excavator) - but it has front loader and backhoe attachments, looks a lot different that what you described. It could be a Unimog radio truck, there are a lot of them floating around owned by civvys, perhaps it was owned by a...
