M818 disengage front drive like 939 series.

Gotcha, much to learn on this truck, much to learn. TM can only take you so far, hands on is by far the best way to learn.

    M818 throttle return spring

Thanks, but I'm gonna make the drive to Tim's today. Real good community here, better than I expected.

M818 disengage front drive like 939 series.

So much to learn. At least it's not a M981 FSTV. I hated those vehicles, everything in the turret was hydraulic, and I mean everything. Schematics on that thing were a night mare.

M818 disengage front drive like 939 series.

Awesome, at least I know I'm not crazy and it was thought of. I'll look up the mwo.

M818 disengage front drive like 939 series.

Ok, after looking at the -34 I see a reference to the FRONT AXLE ENGAGEMENT AIR CYLINDER. It tells you to test the operation by referencing the -10. The -10 has nothing about it. It's moments like this that I miss tm's that have a theory of operation section. So, let me take a stab at this...

M818 disengage front drive like 939 series.

Ok I searched but came up with changing the axle flanges, so not really what I was looking for. When I place the truck in reverse I hear the tell tell air release like in the 939 series when you disengage the front axle. Didn't see that in the schematic so I was wondering if it is possible to...

Anyone in the Ft Campbell area? and some electrical questions m1009

While I don't know the CUCV electrical system I do know electrical principals. You have a short and it is finding the least resistant path to ground. If your fuse did not blow and the wire started to burn then your fuse is probably rated to high and allowed the wire to get to hot. If your...

DEUCE BRAKE LINE REFERENCE GUIDE (Sizes, lengths, fittings)

My main thing was the schematic, I'll do all the measurements when the time comes. Your information is amazing on the brake system.

    M818 throttle return spring

I figured I could order it, I just wouldn't get it in time. Needed it for Tuesday morning for an event. I just looked at the tm again and I realized I copied the wrong spring nsn. Saw the one you posted, fig 79 item 34. I was looking at fig 65, item 26 (Fuel Pump Upper Spring Pack). My mistake.

DEUCE BRAKE LINE REFERENCE GUIDE (Sizes, lengths, fittings)

Would this apply to the 809 series as well?

    M818 throttle return spring

You are a life saver. I can come by tomorrow if you don't mind. I'll bring cash, just let me know how much to bring. I told Doug Nobles I will do any support missions in my area, but I will also travel for special events. I'm not sure what I will do for the 4th, last year I did the parade on my...

    M818 throttle return spring

I remembered when looking through the searches and was reading about the deuce I came across people using a bungie cord as a quick fix. Well two bungie cords later, I can say it was defiantly the spring. One small one in place of where the spring normally goes, and another on the pedal holing...

    M818 throttle return spring

I saw those on napa's website, just wasn't sure about having to bend the ends myself and how they would hold up.

    M818 throttle return spring

Pulled the spring off and I'll take in to napa tomorrow. I was thinking about an inch shorter than what is on it, just wanted to make sure. Thanks

    M818 throttle return spring

In my other thread I mentioned a high idle issue that started on my trip. It was mentioned that it was my throttle return spring that was bad. I went to look at the spring to get it's measurement, and compare it to what the tm calls for and what is on the truck is longer. The tm calls for a...

    Picking up my M818

It's the wording that is misleading. Pg 2-4 Key 5 - Fuel gage switch (M817 and M818 ) when in “L” position, fuel gage shows left tank fuellevel. When in “R” position, fuel gage shows right tank fuel level. Pg 2-4 Key 13 - Fuel tank selector switch (M816) directs supply of fuel from left or...

    Picking up my M818

The -10 says other wise, but it is whatever at this point. I've know the tm to be wrong on several occasions. I'm on the hunt for a new knob for the selector valve. Now, back to the return spring. Popped the hood and looked at the spring, I'll get a new one to be on the safe side but the spring...

    Picking up my M818

It also says a switch on the dash directs fuel. I copied straight from the -10 The only reference for the switch on the dash is in the -10. I have poured through the -20 and -34 and no reference to it. It is a little aggravating to say the least.

    Picking up my M818

Hmm, then the tm is wrong. Page 2-5 key 13 Fuel tank selector switch (M816) directs supply of fuel from left or right fuel tanks. Page 2-7 key 17 Fuel tank selector valve (M816, M817, and M818 ), when in “L” position, engine draws fuel from left side tank; when in “R” position, engine draws...

    Picking up my M818

I didn't rebuild it. It worked good, I was a little worried when I hit traffic in Beaumount but since the idle started running at ~1800-2000 it did ok. When I switched the tank I already had it running and boy could you hear the difference from going from the red to the df-2, then it started to...
