Well, just scored a Hadley 29" air horn for my deuce. I will not be replacing the stock air horn setup, merely adding a spare "big rig" horn in there for my own satisfaction, I guess. Cost me about $45 used on eGay, with all the hardware to install, in very nice condition. Sure beats paying...
Good luck in your search. I will be hitting a couple hamfests in the near future, if I see one, I'll snag it for you. I can use a MT-297 mount myself, so if I find a MT-299 anywhere, I'll bag it.
I love the grab handle idea - I'm gonna have to add that to mine, it's really hard to pull my fat butt up onto the bumper right now. That might help....
...and, possibly losing 20 pounds might too.
Lots of trucks currently showing up on GL, over 150, and over 350 trailers of all types. Not to mention the ongoing supply of ones coming out of GSA. I call :tin hat:
Great save! What did it run you?
For your restoration pleasure, I found the following website. It also has a webpage on it that give detailed pics and measurements to fab up your own tailgate for it.

M127 has 2 axles. Take a look at the pics - only one axle, and no, one axle isn't missing. ;-)
Any pics of the data plates? That would answer the questions....
Okay, great idea.
If you can pick up a 1/4-ton trailer, by yourself, and place it in the back of a deuce without use of a hoist or wrecker, more power to you. If you have a loading dock or a ditch and can in some way make use of that means of loading, more power to you. However, if you like...
I know, weight-wise, it can be done easily, but my concern is due to the shortness of the trailer, it may cause side-to-side wheel hop or shaking. Anyone have experience with this?
Mount it facing up. My truck came with it mounted on the floor vent door, which is kinda dumb. When I mount the convoy lights, I will mount it toward the top of the pole facing God.
