    One man winch operation?

Ok, I misunderstood his post. I've had this exact thing on my mind in regards to the deuce winch. I'm going to have to check that out in the TM to see if it could be retrofited to the deuce.

    "High Speed" oil leak

Gimpy, that's what I was thinking. This is very common on the deuce. Have too much oil in the trans, go fast down the road, and oil pours out of the bellhousing.

    One man winch operation?

I don't have a wrecker but I do have a rear winch off of one. The winch doesn't have a clutch (it's in gear all the time). There is an air cylinder that works the tensioner on the level wind but that's it.

    Binder head out

Shoot, I'll give you more than the scrap yard will. ;-) It will bring about 2k in scrap around here.

    E-mail from GL

I have to agree with Chief but if GL allows the practice it could open the door up to abuse. The real question is, is the seller in bed with GL? Most auction compaines highly frown on deals going on on their items withoutout them being involved ( getting their commision). At the local live...

    One man winch operation?

If you want to have more control over the winch when by yourself, hyd is the way to go. I've never seen a hyd winch on a A2 and according to my measurements, there are some clearance issues with the radiator if you go with a direct mount hyd motor. With that being said, I'm sure you could make...

Anyone in KY or TN got a hitch I can borrow?

The hitch you've got will work. The trailers will be headed "downhill" but that's ok. Just make sure you have some sort of jack because the trailer jack won't go down that low. A high-lift jack works perfect.

M35A2 or M35A3? Pro's and Cons of each

There are a few A3 specific parts that are hard to come by. I know a fellow that was looking for a trans dipstick and tube for a A3. Like to have never found one (they are different than what's on a civilain Allison). Some people love the A3, some people love the A2. IMO the A3 is butt ugly...

thickness/gauge of steel used in cargo bed floor

I can measure mine tomorrow if you like. I've looked at it and I'm going to say 16ga (1/16") off the top of my head but I could be wrong . I've installed a dump on my truck and the floor is a little light for my application. I try and be very careful when dumping large rocks into the bed but...

Just don't post them until after the auction is over.

installing a garwood 20,000 lb on deuce

    1) too heavy 2) drive is on the wrong side (but can be changed) 3) not really needed (the 10k winch is more than enough) With all that being said, there are people that have done it. The 2x rating you've heard has to do with electric winches. Have you accually looked at a 20k winch? The stock...

Kentucky area get together!!!! knob creek October 2010

Shoot, did you price the rentals? They will pay for that AK in about a 1/2 day of rentals (I'd almost guarantee it's a post '86 gun).

    neighbor problems

The problem is, alot of HOAs have a bunch on power. They can basicly make up whatever rules they want to, even after the fact. If the HOA is out to get you, about the only only way you can get them off of you is either to sell the offending vehicle(s) or move. I've had a few "city folk"...

    Washing your air filter

I've washed alot of paper filters on heavy equipment. It's common practice on big expensive filters. It get's it alot cleaner than blowing it out. Just wash it, rinse it out good, and let it sit for a day so it dries out good.

    WND-7-28 PTO rebuild

Isn't this PTO basicly the same as the deuce PTO? If so, the smaller seals are for the shift shaft. I don't understand what you're calling the "input shaft seal". The input is sealed by a gasket where it mounts to the trasmission. Are you talking about the accessory drive output?

    How long does it take???

Just as a side note (when your EUC clears), You may need to do some measuring to make sure a M35 and a M36 will fit on a 48' trailer. I've hauled two M35s on my 48' and there's not alot of room left. I'm not saying it won't fit but it's going to be close.

    Winch Vent

If you've got a leak try some "John Deere corn head grease". It's alot thicker than 90wt and lubes the winch fine but doesn't leak as bad. Do a search for "corn head grease" and you'll find several threads about it. I run it in my winch.

The TM9-2320-361-10 (duece operators manual) is listed as restricted on the LOGSA site. It's also downloadable in the TM section here.

Hemtt rims VS. stock deuce rims for 395s

Yea, I figured it was something like that. I just haven't aggravated you in awhile so I figured I'd throw it out there. :D By the way, nice wheels. You going to Knob Creek? I'd like to see the wheels in person. ;)
