    Dually spacers

My brother has got a set of the spacers he bought years ago but never used them. I'll see if he wants to sell them.

    suspended GL account

Well that sounds like a new low for GL to me. You're dad has a heart attack but that still doesn't excuse you from picking up your lot? What site was it and what was the site managers name? I think they need to be "called out".

    3053A with PTO Question

It's pretty easy to swap the PTO out. You just have to set the backlash with the proper number of gaskets. I don't know the exact specs (I do it by feel) but it's better to have it a little loose than too tight.

I have a couple of questions about the m101a ftailers from hooks.

    1) Yes. I've hauled two on a 16' trailer. 2) It depends on the site. I've always had them load me without any problems but some sites won't. I'd call ahead to make sure. 3) You shouldn't need any special tools if they will load them for you.

    Converting deuce winch to electric

After hearing the responses, looks like I was right. I'd be better off just to buy an electric winch. I just was needing a winch and I saw my deuce winch setting there and it got me to thinking. I was just thinking, if Warn could make a winch run off of electricity, so could I. I'm starting to...

Are all GL auctions like this????

You want to bid toward the end but not too late. About 4:30 is a good time. After a item goes into overtime, the price almost always goes higher than the ones that have already closed.

    Converting deuce winch to electric

I've got a spare deuce winch and would like to add a winch to my gooseneck trailer to recover non-running vehicles. I'm wondering what kind of DC motor it would take to power a deuce winch? I'm also wondering if it would just be cheaper to buy a electric winch?

Looking for a set of Tow Brackets

I've got a couple of extra sets. Shoot me a PM if interested.

    looking for a pto for a 1973 m35

Here's some pics of my hyd pump running off of a transfer case PTO. I'm getting ready to install a hyd pump off of a trans PTO for my uncle. The problem is, the output is facing the wrong way. To get around this (and not wanting to buy a dual output), I'm going to use a chain driving a...

    Electric winch

Farmun, there's a place in Plesant View that we get to form metal for us. Sorry I can't remember the name of the place (shoot me a PM if you need it and I can find out). They can form almost any size channels and are very resonable.

    7.3L international in a deuce?

I wouldn't trade a whole truck load of 7.3 IDI IHs for one 6bt. The 7.3 IDI is a little better than the GM 6.2 but not alot. The 7.3 is a ok engine for a pickup truck but I honestly don't think it would out perform a turned up multifuel. On all of the early model IH diesels, you've really got...

    GL Columbus

I wonder what their pay scale is? I bet it's low compared to like jobs at other places. I wish somebody here would get a GL job. That way we would have a mole . Alot of the site guys they have try to help out as much as they can but most of them don't have a clue about the stuff they are...

    m1008 diesel to gas conversion

Changing glow plugs is just as easy as changing sparkplugs in a gas engine. The do sometimes swell on the ends and are hard to pull out of the head though. You need to make sure your glow plugs are bad before you replace them. It could be your glow plug controler not sending power to the glow...

Saw an air braked M35a2 yesterday

IMO, air brakes would be an improvement but not so much that I'd want to do the conversion. The only problem we've ever had with air brakes in off-road applications is mud and dirt getting inside the brake chambers. When stuff gets inside the chambers it will eat the pancakes up in short...

my head and eyes hurt looking at transmission lube

IMO, most of this thread is about solving a problem that doesn't exist. There is no problem that I'm aware of that is caused by using GL-1. These trans rarely fail and the ones that do were more than likely caused by abuse by young soldiers while in the military hands. Why not just use GL-1 and...

Stanadyne / Roosa Master Inj. Pump problems

That's an easy fix. Frist remove the two screw cover on the side of the IP. Under that cover will be the timing marks. Turn the engine over by hand to line the timing marks up. Then take out the IP mounting bolts and side the IP off of the shaft ( the shaft will stay with the engine). In the...

Stanadyne / Roosa Master Inj. Pump problems

I've taken apart a junk Roosa Master pump. From what I saw, I really don't think this is something that should be done in the home shop. What's wrong with the pump? leaking into the crankcase or not pumping fuel. If it's leaking into the crankcase, you can replace the shaft seals without...

New to me fuel storage tanks

Just don't paint the tank dark colors. It probably won't make much difference with WMO but diesel or gas needs to be kept as cool as possible to cut down on evaporation. That's why most tanks you see are painted silver or white. Sometimes people even build a shed over their tanks to keep them cool.

my head and eyes hurt looking at transmission lube

:ditto: It's hard to go wrong with the what the military calls for. My local CO-OP is the only place that keeps it in stock (alot of old tractors call for GL-1). On the heat issue, I've noticed they get pretty warm. I don't think it's so much the trans making the heat as it is the heat from...
