Mike is a super guy, he helped me a lot when I picked up my Blazer. When it started and the dust was flying, the cold rattle was on, he asked if it was supposed to sound like that. I told Mike I sure hoped so. We drove it home. I was watching those tractors, not sure what I think I would do with...
Are those the 32" tires?
If I had it my way, I would dig up a set of 16" wheels and run 16" tires on it, tall and skinny. I was looking at some 285/75R16s... Those would be sweet on my M1008, they are a really nice looking tire.

It looks like we would have enough clearance to run 32 11.50 15s and I just saw a killer looking set of them at a local tire store. I do not care to lift the trucks any, surely the added height and width would be okay on my M1009. Any of you guys running them? Thanks in advance... Glen

You might have your old alternators tested before you start throwing new alternators and a starter at your truck. It could easily be a bad cable, only takes 1 and you have many involved, a bad connection, a dead cell in one battery etc.... You never said what exactly the problem is. You may have...
My transmission guy said that is pretty common for 400's that sit dry for a long time. The o-rings get hard and do not seal like they should until they get warm, apparently the heat makes them softer. I am not sure how accurate that is as my three do not slip. I know two of my trucks sat for an...
Be sure to replace that rubber hose between the fuel block and the Injection Pump. I cannot imagine why they ran a rubber fuel line that far. I have been able to get the clamps loose by reaching under the intake manifold from the driver's side and using a 1/4 drive ratchet and long extension...
That is very true, the 6.2 is easy prey as it is governed way too high. I understand why they set the rpm high, it is just unfortunate that they did. The engine gets an undeserved bad rap. Lots of them made it over 300 thousand in half ton 2 wheel drive with over drive vehicles. Very few made it...
I think your 50mph assessment is pretty close. 60 is leaning on it pretty hard. If you are like a lot of guys and consider the 6.2 a throw away engine, 60 is no problem until you cannot keep bearings in it. They have a nasty history of beating the webbing out of the block...then spinning main...
I am pretty sure the outside bearing failure wiped out the spindle threads or defeated the axle nut. I did not see the axle nut. It should not need housing welding though, I think the spindle just bolts on the outside of the housing, a new spindle, a new hub, bearings and nut are in order. As...
Ok, so it was not a military truck, it was a cement mixer. He was driving south on our version of Main Street, Santa Fe, and heard what he thought was something explode in his rear axle. He turned left or east on Crawford, went one block and turned right on 5th street. At that point his left...
I think you pretty well have it covered. A really nice clean low mileage, rust free truck can regularly bring over five thousand. A little rougher, a few more miles, a little more rust, tired tires, a few cosmetic blemishes and the price keeps coming down. You have to decide how important really...
In Kansas she would be suspended for no insurance and if involved in an accident, she could not get her license back until restitution was paid, regardless of time. But like the above posted, some chose to drive drunk, suspended and uninsured. We used to have a habitual violator law that made it...
I am in Kansas, obviously, but with 27 years on the local PD, Kansans have forms to fill out at the scene for the other driver, an insurance exchange. I cannot imagine an officer denying you any information you wanted to obtain at the scene, except facts relating to the criminal DUI...
Nice looking truck! I know we really enjoy ours! I hope yours turns out to be as good as outs have been. You need to dig up the pet thread and share that handsome dog there too! Glen
WoW!!!! I had no idea there were this many members here in Central Kansas. I have a few M715 parts if you need something unusual. The price is right, help yourself. I had a fleet of M715s and M725s over the years, but unfortunately I have sold all of them except the parts truck. It is pretty...
Salt Lake City to Boulder Colorado to Salina Kansas in two days in my M1009, a little over 1000 miles in a vehicle I had never seen until I arrived in Salt Lake City shortly after midnight, I drove it to Boulder on the same day I first heard it run.
We took the M1008 to Jefferson City Mo to...
