    Are M113s and M114s related?

No, not related, but the "boxy" design is prevalent throughout the world in APCs of that era. The FMC-manufactured M59 had that style too. The M113 was made by FMC with a 6 cylinder diesel engine. Early ones had a gas engine, but I can't remember what it was. The M114 was made by the...

    X

I've always had a question about the M113 - were any of the -113 series made out of steel hulls? Reason I ask is that a couple years back I saw a flatbed truck heading north on I-81 with a -113 track on it, and it was covered in RUST. No paint, just rust, like it had a steel hull, the paint...

MV Convoy on US Rt. 20 East coast to West coast

RE: MV Convoy US Rt 20 coast to coast Sounds like your waging a war of attrition, and the vehicles are going down one by one. :( Glad you're still truckin', John. Got any pics of your journey so far?

    Which paint color ? ? ?

If you wanted to do your 880 Dodge like it might have been painted in the 1980s, but didn't want to do a camo paint job, I recommend 383 Green. For late 1970s, maybe Forest Green would be best.

RE: Re: RE: Moving soybeans with the m818 Tofu blows. Let's hope those beans are destined for soy sauce or ethanol. Great pics! Ditto on the different angle!

    Packard connectors or shrink-tube splices?

Am wondering how many out there use Packard waterproof connectors on their military electrical modifications, or just do an in-line splice with waterproof shrink-tubing. I haven't had good luck making Packard connections, just curious to hear why some folks do them, and some don't. I'm tempted...

M250 Cannon Carrier * Needs Rescued

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: M250 Cannon Carrier * Needs Rescued I don't know, Aberdeen alreaday has a restored set, complete with the cannon. It's on display not far from the museum. Plus, from the news I hear, Aberdeen will, under BRAC, be no more, and the museum is slated to be moved in its...

    HEAT roll over simulator

Yup. Kinda reminds me of the training that Fitz-Hume and Millbarge received in Spies Like Us, like when they got in the aircraft simulator to test their ability to withstand a rapid and sudden impact from great height, and the simulator plane falls off the top of the wall, and crashes into the...

M250 Cannon Carrier * Needs Rescued

That's the rear drive tractor for the Atomic Annie. The front tractors are harder to find. The cannons are almost impossible to find, at least for sale... ;)

Whose truck is this and what is this light mount?

I saved this pic from a while back, very nice M35A2 w/w. I noticed a light mount on the driver's side fender of this deuce, and it looks like a smaller version of the turn signal brushguard. What is this light mount? Not familiar with it.

    Rausch Creek MV Rally 08!!-Oct.10,11,12

I'm not sure if anyone would be interested in this, but last year we did the convoy/meetup on Friday morning, arriving at RC around noon. I might be interested in going a day earlier, arriving on Thursday. Would be able to get more offroading time in, get set up earlier, etc. Would anyone...

    DUKWs in Dublin

I have seen those in Baltimore, RIDE THE DUCKS! I believe is the company name or something similar. I know they plaster that slogan all over the DUKWs they use. I, too, am going to ride someday in those beasts. Thanks for the pic, Mark. That paint job, though, is hideous.

    Ride to Ft. Dix, NJ

Ah, I know that gate well. I like your quasi-CUCV, does anyone know if the army ever had 1970s Chevys for base vehicles alongside the M880s?

What are these things on the engine manifold?

Would this have any affect on warm weather operation, giving added power that trucks without it wouldn't have? Or is it coincidence that our two trucks that both have added boost, have these things?

What are these things on the engine manifold?

I was by dm22630's place yesterday, and he showed me his new trucks. One he pointed out, he said that it has a LOT more power than the other deuces he has, that he was accelerating up hills, in 5th gear before the end of his driveway, etc. The only difference in that truck vs. the others, were...

No more $50.00 starting bids for Demil B & Q Property

RE: No more $50.00 starting bids for Demil B & Q Propert Some of the stuff they sell isn't worth $150 bids. They need to start taking small bunches of stuff and piling it together into bigger amounts to make sense. I wish we could go back to the old days. High bid gets it. If your high...
