Dang it Gimp, it's gotta to the thread. He just PM'd me, the hex occurred and now them little boy scouts are gonna be itching their drawers off.
thtrev2001 send the info to the thread.
Post it to the 2010 VIN INFO thread. I wouldn't PM CARNAC. That only upsets him and you will only get a hex of flees from 1000 camels infesting your deuce.
The NFUCHU is a registration number.
The military routinely paints registration numbers on the doors of vehicles and most likely the dash. That's so when the vehicle gets blown to bits in combat, they know what pieces were from what truck....
Figured I'd float that theory to see if...
Maybe I need to rethink a recent job offer in WI. Not sure if I want to be associated with such a military unfriendly legislature. So, did these bozo's get voted out? When will this hit FOX news for the stupidity that it is.

Welcome to the site.
If you are having starting issues, it is probably your glow plugs. Best to do a search as there are a lot of threads on this. Even if you don't need them now, you will eventually.
It's that time of the year for glow plug failures. Unless your vehicle was converted over, you will need to buy the special ones. I seem to recall the dealer I went through last time was in your general vicinity.
Suggest doing a search in the CUCV section on glowplugs and then a google for...
If you are in York County, my suggestion is to send a PM to ECOSTRUCTION. He isn't on as much anymore but he does come on here.
He lives in York. I bought my truck (which was my truck before it became his truck, before it became GL's truck, before it became DRMO's truck, before I turned it...
Yep the one or two odd balls will always be out there. I ran into two M49 fuel trucks a few weeks ago still in service.
As for the plethora of trucks like we have seen over the years....
Just like the jeep, the odd ball ones will either go to a museum or will go for high dollars.
I'd say...

Please read post one or do a search on frame numbers. It will either be over the drivers side front axle or over the passenger side front axle depending on when it was mfg. The vast majority have it on the drivers side.
Wasn't me either (mine is a horrible camo job). My wife called me (in the middle of a meeting) last week just to tell me a tan 1009 was parked next to her in the parking lot. So it looks like we have a new neighbor.
I've run into two other folks in the ATL area with deuces yet aren't on...
At first I was torqued this has come up yet again. This is about the 20 ga-zillionth time we have discussed this and leads those that "know the truth" to realize the person asking "for the truth" definately has never spent anytime around military bases, the Army Reserve, or the National Guard...
