I used a 3 inch pipe on mine for a year and it was fine. The pipe is only 3.5 inches stock so your not choking it down that much, to boot a N/A motor is 2.5 inch exhaust so your fine with the 3 inch. It does sound like your turbo went but last time my friends trubo went (happened twice and both...
It just sits in there. Its not a press fit. Take a small hammer and beat on the end of it, your going to have to take it out with force. Some times you have to jump in and beat things up, I have to teach my techs every day on how to remove stuck bolts, hangers ect... "dont be scared just do it"...
Tom where on earth are you getting your info? Could you post a pic or scan the T.M. you get 2300 RPM from? I would like to know if everyone here is doing something wrong by crusing at 2600-2800 RPM.

My heads leak a bit of oil also, even after a full rebuild of the heads and block. I guess thats the way it is. Lot of guys say a multi is only dry when its out of oil. I dont really trust that factory gauge too much. I had to replace the sending unit 2 times now. I did install a sun pro gauge...
my deuce runs at 200 to 210 when Im flat out giving her the beans.I thought that Craintruck says to try and keep them warm (180) but that 200 was pushing it for a multi. Correct me if Im wrong Bj. I know he runs with the winter cover on alot to insure its with in the op temp.
I have pushed mine to 3000 RPM before (down hill). she sounds great at that speed. Now I would not keep her there all day but I have ran over 300 miles non stop at 2600-2800 rpm many times. I have seen that "danger" sticker all over the place on that tach, seams it is set to who ever put it...
