RE: Notice of Thanks
I have nothing but good things to say about Saturn - they have always sent me good parts, and I will be a customer of theirs for years to come.
Be sure to chain your truck to the loading dock, or put blocks on both front and rear of your tires, prior to driving a forklift onto the bed. I have heard of many an accident, some fatal, when guys didn't do this, and the trailer shifted and the forklift either fell off the back end of the...
I always wanted to see that movie - guess now I can say I saw the part where the M211 shined! Very hairy bridge crossing...
Any idea what that second truck is? The front reminds me of a early 1950s Ford, with that big toothy grin in the grille.
gimpy - wishful thinking. The casting for the front wheel assembly blocks access to an impact gun. Only a combination wrench will fit in the space.
shrevestang - M215 has already called the front landing leg. Sorry....
Well, we have a respectable group of folks signed up, that's great! As we get closer to the rally date, we will set up details regarding who is bringing what (campwise) and where we will meet at, etc.
On a more important note, we will need several folks who will act as coordinators for...
The lunette is pretty much welded to the frame - I have tried heat, lube, BIG LONG wrench and combinations thereof to remove it, but the nut is pretty much rusted to the frame. That lunette is part of the trailer, now. That's why I didn't list it in the parts list.
Good save on that M38A1. Despite the fact that it's not restorable, lots of good parts on it to supply other jeeps with. That body tub looks okay - you might see if you can pawn it off to the guys at g503.com. Those guys are into restoring original body tubs; I have seen some threads over...
Spent time today tearing down the M103 hulk in my yard. I have some spare parts that should fit M103, M105, or M149 trailers. I will be going to Jim Thorpe PA show in Feb, VA rally in April, Aberdeen in May, so if you need me to save these for you, and bring to the show for you, no problem...
RE: RALLY FOR N.J.???? TRI STATE AREA?
There is a show in New Jersey in April, I believe, in Augusta at the Sussex Cty. Farm & Horse Show Fairgrounds. I would be interested it it was later in the summer...
RE: c130 photo op
Looks fake to me - too close proximity. If those pics were real, and the Air Force found out how close they were, that pilot would be grounded for some time.
OMG is GL advertising here?!?
Surprise, surprise surprise! Am I reading this right? Loaded the SS webpage and saw a GL ad in the upper left of the page. Is GL finally advertising on Steel Soldiers?
Guess so many folks here buy stuff through them, and our exposure is so well-known now, that...
When I topped off the master cylinder, I first removed the vent line on top of the filler cap, then the filler cap. Use DOT 5 brake fluid. Get a friend to help you bleed the brakes, and pump them to make sure you have good pressure.
The designers didn't put the master cylinder in an easy...
I might be interested in the M35, if it's even a parts truck, I can use it on this end. Very nice of them to give trucks away! :)
Look forward to the pics...
