    900x16 NDCC tires on a M880?

I thought the way you measured the diameter of a bias ply tire was take the first number and double it, then add to the second number. So, for 9.50x16.5 = 35.5 inches and for 9.00x16 = 34 inches Am I mistaken?

Working my Representative on Demil B/Q items

If we all think back to about October or November, a form letter started making the rounds via email regarding the scrapping of surplus Demil B and Q property. We all started frolicking and screaming, some sent an email to their reps. Well, I send several physical letters to my representative...

    Touring Ohio

I made a wrong turn about 10 years ago coming back from Dayton and made a tour around SW Ohio. I don't recommend it to anyone....

    900x16 NDCC tires on a M880?

I believe the original tires for the M880 series were 9.50x16.5LT, which is actually a little bigger than those currently on it. I may be wrong, but I had a M890 before and I think that's what it had on it...

    stove for tent

RE: tent Yup - that stove would be fine in a GP small.

    stove for tent

Barely. I believe there is space in the GP Medium for two smokestacks, I'd go with two stoves, especially on the REALLY chilly days.

    Annville PA Auction mid Feb

Unmanned sites usually have to have an appointment made at the contact number provided in order to see the trucks. It just means that noone is there regularly, so if you just "show up", you're out of luck.

    East Coast Convoy 2008

The costs of fuel, no doubt, are going to play a lot into the number of folks who show up, much more so than in recent years. I have an OD disease, and will be burning more fossil fuels this year much more so than in previous years, even if I have to put it "on the card". Thanks, Cabell, for...

    M-43 3/4 ton 4x4 Ambulance Truck

Looks like it's coming along nicely, zak. I am not tearing down my -725 ambulance that much for resto, I hope there isn't a lot of that rust inside the walls, cause I'm not tearing my interior apart like that. As long as the outside walls are good, I am not messing with it. What color are...

    Oshkosh Recovery (UPDATE!)

Couple questions: 1. What is going on with the facial hair in that one pic? I gotta get him a set of Bics for Christmas.... 2. Any plans on a -819 wrecker repaint in the near future? I remember you talking about restoring the truck this year....

    Oshkosh Recovery (UPDATE!)

Wow, that wiffle tree and towbar assembly looks tough as nails, guys! Great pics on the recovery, glad to hear you got it home safe. You won't hear any complaints from me about the welding/mod job on the rear ramps. Looks like you made a good thing better!

Military Police markings arte a big NO GO!!!!

So, all those guys who have restored cop cars from the '50s and '60s are "imitating an LEO" as well? Yeah, right. I'm sure, according to that cop, that if you pull up with your Military Police-marked M1009, that someone will think they are being pulled over by a REAL police officer. Guess...

    Virgina Steel Soldiers Rally - April 4-6, 2008 - sign up !

Well, many thanks go out to Patrick and Matt (L1A1) for taking me out on the trail this past weekend to look at more trails. Found a really nice trail into some campsites that were really nice and tree-covered, but allowed plenty of room to park a dozen or so big vehicles without too much in...

Graffiti Removal off of Canvas... Any Suggestions?

Warm water and soap for starters. Then move up to Oxyclean and elbowgrease. Then the Goofoff. In that order. There may be some paint remover out there on the market that can do it, but not sure if it will have any effect on the canvas. For the taggers, bleach works very good. Hold their...

Going rate for the M818 on GL?

Most of the ones I have seen in Chambersburg, PA GL site have been selling for around $3000 to $3500 in good condition. Non-running about the same as running, to be honest. Those numbers are without the 10% buyer's premium and taxes.

    M66 ring reproduction legs

I would be interesting in getting a set, shipping would be a killer, though.
