Question related to the DOT 5, What are the advantages of using DOT 5 over DOT 3? If a system is filled with DOT 3, and you wish to change to 5, what is the best procedure for doing this? How do you get ALL the old DOT 3 out of the lines before changing over?

It is, but there are dealers out there with oodles of cables of all lengths, I have seen 50 foot and 100-foot cables for VRC-12 series radios. Would be easier just to buy a longer cable than make one.

Usually, most radios are mounted on the passenger's side of the truck, on the floor, and it would be shorter cabling to mount the antenna on the passenger side. However, as long as your cables are long enough, either side works.
