Roadtrip DC to Richmond to Atlanta

Heck FT, I picked up the arsenal of democracy on the way down from the gun vault at the folks. :-D And for the record, great-great-grand-dad was 12th NC Cav along with his brother. It was all about freedom and states rights. nuff said on that.

HEY ALL. I'm back with a lot of drama but luckily nothing MV related. They guy that was going to drive the CUCV down couldn't at the very, very, very last minute. I was literallyi in the parking lot waiting for him to arrive. So I had to have the stuff in the CUCV as a priority...

    Bad head gasket?

I've heard the same about the TD 'thing' and think it is also in the manual about this. Can't remember what the deal is. Actual reason I replied is to say, I just replaced my head gasket. I had a army mechanic home on convalescent leave assist (more so directed the activities). Me and...

Roadtrip DC to Richmond to Atlanta

Just wanted to give a heads up and find out who will be around this weekend along this round I-95 from Washington DC to Petersburg, VA and then I-85 west to Atlanta? If anyone is along that route and willing to cough it up, I'd appreciate a PM with a phone number just in case I need help. I...

    Offroad Lights

Yes the lens is removable but you have to put the clear lens in to replace it or your bulb will be easily cracked by the first pebble that hits it. The lens is real thick glass. I hit a guardrail at 45 mph head on and both lens survived the impact. The bulbs were toast, the mounting screws...

    Offroad Lights

I won't have any until probably Sep or Oct. Quite a few folks got theirs from me over the past year or two. They work great. I had infra-red ones on my CUCV front grill. Although space is limited, I have seen a member on here mount both IR and clear lens ones on a CUCV grill. The clear ones...

    2009 vin info thread

Saw on the your other thread you were needing a build date First one is 1972 and second is 1971. In the case of these deuces, you can tell by the last two digits of the registration number. You vins start off with 0539.... Remember the registration number is not part of your vin and should...

I had one as a daily driver that I was doing an 65 mile trip each day (130 mile round trip) for 6 months and yes they are loud, yes at high speed they can suck fuel, and no they don't have A/C. It got me there each day except for the master cylinder that blew and allowed me to meet the...

News: USAA will start insuring deuces and other MVs in the fall

Folks, there is another thread covering a lot of insurers and state and other info. I started it after finding USAA wasn;t going to cover vehicles over 10K pounds. Think it's entitled No Garage, Need Insurance. It's about 16 pages long or so.

Has anyone installed aux lights in the front/back of a deuce?

If you were wanting to stay in the military flavor, why not buy military 24 volt armored personnel carrier lights? You can get them in white (clear) or infra-red lens. They can be mounted directly on the bumper either above or below. They work as alley and back up lights also. Multi-purpose...

Got a few problems. Please help.

No, it should be on the frame itself and almost directly over the front axle.

Got a few problems. Please help.

There is only an issue if the frame number does not match the number on the title. If it doesn't, it depends on the state on how to get that fixed. If a military registration number with serial number were together on a title, I wouldn't sweat that as much.
