Your VIN number is technically the one on the frame not the dataplate. People can 'monkey' around with the dataplate. It is fairly easy to do on deuces and 5 tons. It is totally against regulations in the military to do it. If the entire cab is changed....well, I doubt folks will go back and...
I would be very cautious about going that route. If you did this, it would be a felony in most states.
Do the right thing, the serial number is on the frame. Find it and then get the data plate made for that serial number.
Correct the serial number and serial number only is the VIN. The registration number is technically NOT part of your VIN. I know it's short and they'll question it but that is what it is (the way it is) for military vehicles.
Yes, Jan96 was the last update and yes 11 miles in 13 years is...
Well I've gotten my first load down here to GA. I will be leaving for Martinsburg on either Thursday night or Friday morning and plan to get there by Saturday morning or night.
I have a 26 foot box trailer. It can carry boxed cargo (no vehicles) and could carry pallets but the trailer cannot...
Again, DTID is a turn in document number. It does not equate to the vehicle serial number. You must get the serial number from the vehicle, in this case, preferably from the frame.

DTID does not equal serial number. Without significant effort (which I don't have the time to do right now) I can't get this information with the data provided. Get me a serial number and/or registration number.

You can also check the TM's. Usually a TM covers more than one type of vehicle. For example the deuce TM covers the M35A2 w/o winch, M35A2 w/ winch, M50A3 water truck, M109A3, M185A3, M49A2C and maybe one or two others. 800 series 5 ton manual is the same way.
Negative, USAA limits the weight at 10,000 lbs (not 12K). I have this in writing from USAA. If you have a deuce insured by USAA, it is not under a legally binding contract. Yes you are paying but they will not cover you in an accident. Don't believe me? Send them a letter/email yourself and...
Folks, I'm pretty busy right now with the move so I can't look up the vin but the info I see is Arizona Army National Guard and the HHS is Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron. This must be from a Cavalry type unit. Couldn't see the numbers on the other side to be any more definative. Will...
Concur, "alive", everyone.
TM section better arranged? Absolutely!! I have access to other means of getting the TM's I need so I don't think I've every used the TM section on here after the first attempt or two.
I think you fail to see the point that we had two threads about the exact...
you could probably google nsn's and get the manufacturer part number and cage code. I think this maybe even already done in some of the -20P manuals in the back.
