Anyone have the VRC-12 series radio installlation manual for the CUCV series of trucks? Can't find it here, and LOGSA looks locked down to us peons. HELP!
I didn't have any problems getting ahold of MVDataplates on the phone. I left a message, and got a call back the next day. I've heard some people never being called back, not sure why.
I'd try it again.
If you're thinking of convoying up Rt 1 in VA or MD 301, forget it. Too many lights, too much traffic on the weekdays, too much construction. You'll get migranes trying to keep everyone together. Interstates are where its at.
Before adoption of the "X" prefix before a model number, such as "XM-1", the Army used the "T" prefix, as in T-1. T for Test. The Army dropped it around the late 1950s, perhaps a little earlier.
I'd go with stencils. More original, and I worry that too many decals would look like you bought a GI Joe toy and completed the stickers on them. I also worry about adhesion issues with the decals, especially if you surface is not completely smooth, or you put them on in humid weather.

Thanks, gimpyrobb. BTW - saw pics and vids of your -725 at Haspin last year. Do you have the stock drivetrain in your ambulance? If so, I'm impressed by the off road capability and power given by the standard drivetrain setup. I was told these rigs were thought to be underpowered for their...
Okay, time to add fluids to my truck, but the military manuals only list the applicable military standard fluids by NSN and mil type. Doesn't seem to correspond correctly with commercial off the shelf stuff.
Here's what I am guessing for my M715 series truck:
Engine oil: 10W30
Tranny: 90-W...
I will probably meet you guys in Doswell with a friend of mine. It's a 2-hour drive SE from where we are, but it will give us a chance to iron out any problems with our rigs en route. Plus, we get the bonus of convoying north with a bunch of great fellas...
