You can find them sometimes in the want ads for $400 to $600 in good shape. I sold mine with a new camo paint job, a spare 7.00x16 tire and a tan vinyl cover for $650 two years back. Keep looking and you'll find the deals....
Washington Army National Guard Unit:
81st Brigade Combat Team (Heavy), 1st Battalion of the 185th Armor Regiment
Headquarters, Truck #894
second truck:
same unit, but Bravo Company, Truck #4
The few I've seen were strapped to a pallet and sold by weight, not unit. They also looked like they were run over by a HEMTT. My advise is to keep searching the auctions, and pray a lot....
Lookin good so far! You'd be surprised how many M135/M211s over the years have had the beds removed and replaced with M35 beds. Glad to see you're bringing it back to original specs!
I have a bunch - I used to sell the .pdf manuals on disk on eBay a while back. If you give me a day or so, so I can dig all the manuals up, I will post them all here on the site.
Looks great so far, Chris! You got the Seabees door all set to go already, no stenciling required. Can't wait to see that in the ECC!
BTW - does that have the internal tire inflation system? Or has this rig had it removed?
Well, I see my post was deleted, but now I see why. I didn't know Mr. Hammond was deceased/sick. Sorry my mouth was working faster than my common sense, it usually does.
SAVE WHAT YOU CAN, guys! Wish I was closer, I'd buy at least some stuff....
You might do well to take the two, and build one complete one out of it. Then, you should have enough parts left over to at least pay some of the bill for the purchase, or save the spare parts for your complete rig. Either way, it's a great deal if you can swing it.
Nice truck. If you need to make it look closer to the real thing, a simple change of the grille would do it. I think the rest of the body is the same...
It looks relatively complete. Fairly solid. Expect some rust in the quarter panels, even if the pictures don't show it, this model gets it often. Other than that, great save!
RE: Class 4 receiver hitch
Man, I'm glad you took that last pic, there. The previous ones had me thinking that you have put Blazer axles under your rig for better mileage!
Yeah, off roading in Greenland and Iceland is a big deal. There's a lot of old iron up there that gets preserved, due to the lack of salt on the roads, and cold temps, and a lot of off-roaders heaavily customize their rigs to deal with the extreme temps and serious trails they navigate, much...
I regret to inform the populace of SS that I will not be going to this show, mainly because the few small things I need are not worth the 10-hour round trip to get there. I only need a few small things to complete my project, and paint (which I do need) would be cheaper for me to mail order...
