Possible barn find....what could it be

Alright! Another one saved from the barn! Glad to hear Mr. Doyle got the truck, he would definitely give it a good home!

    Big Tonka's in the snow

RE: Big Tonka You got it a lot worse than my old house. Which after 2 years and 4 months, is still in rebuild. I'm slow, what can I say, but more importantly, I spend all my cash on my guns, my daughter, and my vehicles. House comes after that.

    1952 Studebaker V18A/MTQ

Flat, those look too complete to be parts trucks. If I'm not mistaken, that crane model was featured recently in MVM and it's not that common. Would make a really neat resto job.

Original Color of the M543 Wrecker

I've heard that the undercarriage of almost every mil vehicle was black as well. I think the axles were indeed painted whatever color the body was.

52 Studebaker M35 Gas tank woahs!... help

I had my truck's tank restored at a radiator shop, that performed the ReNu process on it. Tank was blasted on the inside, and then lined with a rubber-like sealant to prevent future corrosion. A lot of radiator shops can do this...

Going to get my GL Deuce!

Nice story and great pics of a great ride. Congrats on your new toy, emmado22! Thanks for sharing the tale... Wonder who the mystery truck driver in the lot was, if he is interested in being a Steel Soldier!

    Rebuild my 1962 M37

I'd go with an Isuzu or Cummins diesel swap in, with a better geartrain, to get you up to modern highway speeds. At least then you can drink better fuel than gasoline, better speed, and more possibility that you can find parts for your engine/tranny setup at the local NAPA.

    Testing fuel sending unit

Cranetruck, your pic is exactly what I needed. Will test it out this weekend and see what the multimeter says!

    Towbar adapter machining... rdixiemiller?

Just a dumb question - I know custom towbar mounts and feet are in high demand by SSers here; how difficult would it be to machine a custom set of towbar adapters, using a CNC mill and a chunk of steel? I wouldn't think it would be too hard, or expensive for that matter...if you have the CNC!

    Testing fuel sending unit

Okay, I have a used fuel tank that I had ReNu process done on. Want to reinstall the fuel tank, but before I do, I want to make sure the fuel sending unit works. Someone told me there's a quick and easy way to test a fuel sending unit with a multimeter to see if it will work, prior to...

Going to get my GL Deuce!

The pallet is placed under most larger trucks to hold a pan or a bowl, something to catch oil leaks and the like. GL and DRMO are paranoid of the environmental agencies like the EPA. Leaving even a small leak drip on the ground could bring unwanted EPA attention, that could lead to paperwork...

    Undercoat-stoneguard

Re: RE: Undercoat-stoneguard Just remember Jed, you get what you pay for. The cab bottom is torture tested every ime you run your rig in wet weather, wintertime (with the salt on the roads), even when it's parked in humid weather the moist air get stagnant under the body of most rigs and...

Line-X would be your best bet, but it may cost a bit of dough.

    Plug wire diagram for -715?

Anyone got a plug wire diagram for the -715 series? I can't find anything in the manuals I got for my rig, and want to make sure I hook up the wires in the right firing order.

Sam Winer Motors or Adelman's in OH?

According to a reliable source, there are still a couple of those stored in South Korea. Just in case. Can't build new atomic ICBMs due to treaties, but no treaties on atomic artillery projos! :)
