    Aberdeen 2007

RE: Re: RE: Aberdeen 2007 I got peeps coming over the next few weekends to help with beadblasting of parts, brake installation, welding up some rust holes and drill holes on my rig. I reckon if I get my ducks in a row, the -725 will be in attendance in nice condition!

    New pics.. home and "modded"

Looks very nice! The brown in the camo looks a little too "red" but it comes out nicely.

    Chassis paint prep, Packard crimpers

I got one from a ham radio show a few years back, they had a bin full of them crimpers for $5 ea. Next time, I'll buy them all.

    27,700 lbs Deuce

Most I have ever heard of in a deuce was almost 20 tons, that's 40,000 lbs! I'm not sure what the load was, but the source was reputable. He said that it was a one-way trip across the base SLOWLY, down to the axles, but the deuce was all they had to do the job.

my deuce gets an M60 ring.

You get what you pay for, remember. That $750 kit from Jon Shoop looks expensive, but trust me, it's worth every penny in how it looks. Sportsman's seems to specialize in cheap imported crap nowadays. Used to bend over backwards to sell good American stuff for a good price, now the customer...

    A nice surprise

    1952 Studebaker V18A/MTQ

I'm not familiar with towing operations - does someone have to be in the towed truck to steer it? If not, what would prevent the front wheels from steering whatever way they wanted when towing? If you lashed the steering wheel in place, I would think the friction on the front tires would be...

    Flatbed Deuce

Another example of how practical these great MVs are for everyday work use. Add a pneumatic cylinder under the bed and its a dump. Add a bomb hoist, and you can pick engines easily. Add a plow, and you have income all winter.

What states have you driven your deuce in?

Wow. You guys get around, I'd hate to see your yearly fuel bill totals for your rigs!

    Pumps

RE: Pump Those are neat little rigs! Be great for making a new mug bog area for your local MV or offroading club. Keep us posted if you restore/repaint them!

    Speed of the M37

Easiest way to increase speed in the -37 to normal road speeds is to change the gear ratios of the axles, and get slightly bigger tires, like 11.00x16s. You can easily bring highway speeds up to 65 or so. Downside is that 6,000 lbs going 65mph is dangerous, and hard to stop, so expect to...

    Rebuild my 1962 M37

Wow, looks like you have your work cut out for you, in terms of finding spare parts. However, it looks like the shape of the parts you DO have is excellent! Great save!

    railroad picture

Nah. I'd like to see all that gear back in the USA, our soldiers in the USA, the older stuff get surplused, and the NEW gear on the southern border with the guns loaded and pointed SOUTH.

    M60A3

Wonder whether someone could get a barge and salvage them M60s and M113s that were dropped off the coast of NJ and FL back in the 1990s as artificial reefs. If they're 12 miles off the coast, its international waters! :)
