    Petlas 395-85 R20 tires

The tires I'm most interested in are the Continental HCS. Seems the folks running them on overland vehicles really like them. I personally have had really good luck with the Conti MPT 81's in 335/80 R20 on my Ram. I'm on my 4th set and haven't ever gotten an out of round tire. The HCS's are...

Done. I thought since I shared it here, it would allow people accessing here to see it.

Yes, I realized that when trying to attach it. Didn't really want to mess with that but did anyway. Even though it has been uploaded to youtube, when I try to insert the link it says I can't.

    Well, guess I can't attach a video.

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Thanks, the noise may be the deciding factor for me. Tire noise really isn’t an issue with the stock MVT’s.

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Any of you folks running 14R20's with ECO hubs? Contemplating switching over, but a little concerned about further raising the gearing. Also curios about longevity and reliability of the Goodyear ORD's for those with experience with them.

Would EcoHubs benefit from reprogramming Allison shift points?

So there you go! We're lucky to have you as a resource GD.

Would EcoHubs benefit from reprogramming Allison shift points?

Hmmm, maybe the earlier trans programs are different?

Would EcoHubs benefit from reprogramming Allison shift points?

My C7 powered A1R shifts into 7th at 70mph under normal throttle. If I have my foot in it it’s more like 75. If I run it up to 67 and the slowly lift off the accelerator it will shift into 7th. It will cruise at 60 in 7th as long as it’s pretty flat highway and I keep my foot out of it. I’m...

    LMTV FMTV Exhaust Brake Questions?

But is it an interstate with a 75mph speed limit where you are driving 60-65mph? I live in the hills as well, every direction from my house is downhill on steep winding roads. Speed limits range from 25 to 40mph and on the hills that are 40mph, 3rd gear is lower than I want to be in in most...

    LMTV FMTV Exhaust Brake Questions?

Guess we’ll have to agree to disagree. On an interstate in the mountains I want to be able to use the exhaust brake to manage speed on the down grades and in a truck easily capable of moving along with traffic, I don’t want to be in the slow lane with my flashers on going 35mph. I can always...

    LMTV FMTV Exhaust Brake Questions?

Yes, but it still pretty much redlines the engine and just isn't a very "drivable" behavior for civilian use as an off road RV that will see a lot of highway miles between the offroad explorations. My plan is to have the target gear set to 4th and then manually downshift from there when needed...

    LMTV FMTV Exhaust Brake Questions?

Agreed, the aggressive downshift to 3rd worked for the slower speeds the military operates the trucks at, but not for trucks with highways gears or Eco hubs being driven at highway speeds. This is why I’m going to have an Allison tech change the target gear to 4th. You can always manually...

    LMTV FMTV Exhaust Brake Questions?

That make sense from an operability standpoint. In mode the use is likely off road in slow, steep terrain, so you would want the exhaust break operable at lower speeds.

I have visible vapor coming from mine, most noticeable when the light is just right. My motor could still be wearing in, just coming up on 10k miles. For a medium duty diesel that’s not much. In the owners manuals for the Cummins powered rams it says not to use synthetic oils at less than 10K...

Thanks, that's where my oil level is, but I was referring to gases coming out, not oil.

Who are the experts on the Air compressor

Okay, can someone explain what exactly is being said in the Haldex unloader maintenance instructions that says "Apply M-R spec 2527 lubricant to the unloader seals forming a 9/16 diameter ball around around each seal"? That seems like a huge amount of lubricant if they are literally saying to...
