    Haspin 2022

I have driven through Connersville (town north of Laurel) 4 times this week and we saw another hotel on IN44 called Grey Haven. Old style motel and small. I doubt I could put truck and trailer in there if the lot was full. Reviews improved after it was taken over by new management. Easy to...

    Led Strobes

You must be careful when buying strobes from either Amazon or Ebay as some sellers seem to think that strobe means flashing. I have some and what I got was lights that flash at about the same rate as hazard lights on a car (slow). To me a strobe is what you see on an emergency vehicle and it...

    2 inch receiver hitch source?

I think you are wishing for the good ole days pricing: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/curt-receiver-hitch-for-the-deuce-18-000lb-1-800lb.45005/ I can't find anything about the Team America hitch and design he had. I know he sold a few on here and it actually attached to the pintle. I...

    M1028 whats it worth?

Oh he'd be reminded if he were trying to sell it here. ;-) At this point it sounds like an honest attempt to place a value on the truck. It sounds like something I wouldn't mind having since getting rid of my bigger trucks but age has caught up with me.

    Haspin 2022

There is also one hotel in Connersville right along the road that leads to Laurel from the north.

The official 2022 Southeast Military Vehicle Rally information thread (the event formerly known as the Georgia Rally). This is gonna' be awesome!

That's where I got my hotel room. From the first week of the new location post to the second week when I booked the rooms had gone up. :-( But it is nice the my room will be a few thousand feet from the Nuclear facility. I'll be self-lighting for future night rides.

    2 inch receiver hitch source?

I'm surprised you found a quality hitch for that cheap or even a bad one for that matter. I'd say the $599 is on the low side. We had a member that made hitches but he is not around anymore.

For sale locally, should I buy? For sale Gichner 8/5 wire and spool.

I'm not an electrician but I know a few. ;-) I would not go for less than 4 gauge wire for that rating and distance based on charts. Probably bigger but then you have to consider if the terminals will fit. If I wanted to run it at full load a long time then I would go even bigger. But...

    Just spit balling…brakes

I had to go back and read what I posted at the start of this. My first thought was that it was a great idea. It still is a great idea. I just pointed out that in an accident lawyers get involved and that is why I wouldn't do it. As for inspecting it and thinking that is going to get you off...

    Just spit balling…brakes

Yes, it is sad but it is the world we live in. I'm risk averse in my profession and carry specialty insurance in my private life for it as well. It's not like I have never added a safety feature to an MV. Remote reservoir to my M813 when I still had it was good thing.

    Just spit balling…brakes

I am pretty sure it would add the certifying engineer into the litigation food chain.

    GP Fee Increase

Which is worse? The fact that they are dumber than owl crap in math or the fact that it was announced in 2020 and we are just now catching it?
  13. swbradley1

    Just spit balling…brakes

Because of my chosen profession my first thought was what a great idea and then my other side of me took over. You have an accident and even if the brakes worked perfectly the lawsuit would point out that you deliberately modified the manufacturer's original design. Now it's done everyday on...

Sad Day for Me (Last Truck Sold)

Jeff, If I find anything out there as I clean I'll make sure to get it to you or Gimpy to get down there. Maybe I'll even get the barn cleaned.......nope, that won't happen.

Sad Day for Me (Last Truck Sold)

Pat, Drive one of the newer trucks to Findlay and I'll get a fix there. ;-)

Sad Day for Me (Last Truck Sold)

I got my first Deuce from GL and did a recovery to TN I think in 2008. Started right up and I drove her in the pouring rain 350 miles home. Tickled to death to have one. Until last night that was the last time it was on the road. I used it around the farm but never took it out. Had wheel...

The official 2022 Southeast Military Vehicle Rally information thread (the event formerly known as the Georgia Rally). This is gonna' be awesome!

Plans are in the works to attend. Holly and I researched a lot of places during one of the shows JW was at and that was one of my picks for a location two years ago. And no, I'm not taking credit I never told anyone) but wholeheartedly agree with the choice and still think the team did one...
