Well, after many many rotations of the earth & moon I drove my bobbed deuce home from Timntrucks house to mine. I made sure to do a thorough check of EVERYTHING before I got on the road.
Connect battery cables
Oil check
Coolant check
Brake fluid check
Fuel level check
Leak check
Loose...
Dave,
Thanks a bunch for starting this thread. You said you would! I too would be interested in the possibility of purchasing a compressor bracket from you. Between work and other things the truck may be put on the back burner once I take her home from Timntrucks' house.
I ordered custom length steel braided brake lines with black sheaths from Connector Specialists in Baton Rouge, LA. They in turn sent my stock hoses to their Pearl, MS branch for fabrication. The lines are certified for DOT brake use and they are designed for a maximum pressure of 3000 psi...
Nice rig you got there!
Can you provide all of the information on the paint you used? I will be painting my bobbed deuce soon, and I want to paint the body tan and the frame and below black. Is that color close to desert tan?
Nice meeting all of you guys/girls out there today and swapping stories until this afternoon. My wife and I had to leave early because we thought we had an emergency with one of our dogs. Turns out it was a false alarm.
See y'all next year!
Here are a couple videos I took from the 2012 Louisiana Steel Soldiers Rally this afternoon.
M134 Miniguns are awesome!
[NOTE: The only animals hurt during the filming of the videos below were a few hundred mosquitoes. And a few eardrums!]

I removed factory sound deadening (tar like goo on the floorboard) from several cars that I turned into racecars by spreading dry ice on the floorboard. The coefficient of thermal expansion for the metal floorboard is different than the tar so after a few seconds of exposure to the dry ice it...
You do realize you only need bump stops on top of the spring pack and not on the frame, right? When you put a set of bump stops on top of the spring pack and another set on the bottom of the frame you limit your spring travel. Or did you do it for a specific reason I'm not aware of?
Looks great!
Lots of work completed in the last few days. Timntrucks is amazing!
The front suspension was completed and the deuce was raised up to fit the 53" Michelin XZLs. I didn't take a picture, but the front suspension rear brackets have a flanged (removable) cross tube that allows removal of the...
Next time, hang something on the winch cable (about midway down) to protect all of those bystanders and vehicle occupants in case the cable snaps. It could be a heavy coat, a floormat, etc.
That guy in the M818 and your dad could get paid to make ditches alongside county roads. :D
That Mini Ductor is a really neat tool! I might end up buying one someday.
For now, I'm probably going to torch the splined shaft off the stock deuce gearbox so I can remove it without taking the engine out. This will all happen if I decide to go the power steering route with external...
The zinc plated nuts for the HEMTT wheels came from Stazworks with the wheels. I said I was going to paint the rims again once I mounted them on the deuce.
