    Ground displacement will be the key to this. Spread the load over a larger area and you'll be fine. I doubt the vibration will affect your pipes unless you have very loose ground and very very bad pipes.

    You can move it anywhere you like. You could also just mount a tach under the dash with a bracket. You choose.
