    8.3 liter valve cover gasket

I couldn't. So I drained some coolant into a clean bucket and pulled it. Better access can only make matters easier when it's time to reassemble. How about the small coolant overflow tank and associated bracket? Looks like it needs to go, especially the bracket. Last time I did a valve cover...

    8.3 liter valve cover gasket

Anybody changed the valve cover gasket on one of these? Got a part number or recommended part? I've got black permatex. I'm thinking a solid gasket is probably better. Edit - part number is 3905449. Thanks

New Mexico members check in here!

Don't scrap it no matter what. If it doesn't end up going to Nick, contact me and I have a couple of ideas for either a temporary or permanent home.

    Barn find, M35A3?

Yeah, but look at the cut paperclips on the bumper. I say "possibly", not definitively.

They are not. They're narrower than bridge truck wheels.

M929A2 Dump wanting wider tires on Rear

Budd lock ring wheels. OEM on M939A0 and M809 trucks. Demand for them is pretty low. People sometimes give them away. I use them to weld things out of.

    Possible Transportation/ Pickup In Idaho?

You've got a chase vehicle and a credit card. Parts are readily available and not hideously expensive. Personally, I'd inspect it all and replace anything that looks like it's about to let go and then make a run for it. Any tire shop will have tires that fit. Tractor supply has bottle jacks...

In need of how to determine the correct year of a LMTV?

But the titling documents from GP are going to say 2023. And I'd be reluctant to get a blank data plate for purposes of changing (even erroneous) information. Too easily construed as felony VIN tampering.

    Possible Transportation/ Pickup In Idaho?

Take a set of towbars with your chase vehicle, just in case. Dropping the driveshafts is trivial and M1009s flat tow behind a civilian 1ton just fine.

In need of how to determine the correct year of a LMTV?

You're likely to have a hell of a time with DMV. There's no way they're going to take any date other than what's on the data plate. And DMV just loves to say "NO!" I had an M818 that said "SUV" for vehicle type and "Gasoline" for the fuel. I was trying to title and plate it in AZ, and had the...

So how much can an M998 HMMWV pull in a pinch?

Ok.... all grass has been mowed because i cheated. I used a bigger hammer - The M998 did move the M818 forward enough to pull the chocks, but wouldn't pull it enough to get the tires out of the self created depressions. It didn't really help that the cable attachment point was much lower on the...
