No that isn't why. If you read the original thread that was my thought as well. They used one sheet of metal and tried to bend it down over the sides is why it wrinkled like that, not welds. He wanted one piece of sheet metal on the top instead of running welds on the seams.

Any truck stop that has a store will have the proper dual-headed chuck for you to purchase.
Get the one with the glad hand and quick disconnect and you can take it with you or use it at home.
On this point I agree with WM. I have enough trouble seeing out the back with the West Coast mirrors................

Good explanation on the dimples in the top. That makes even more sense. As for the legal requirements it sounds like you did you homework first.
Jeff, I noticed those as well and they are really prominent on the Ebay listing. I would think that the angled panel dimples were caused by welding without accounting for the heat transfer in the thinner steel.
If this was built for a movie then I suspect it didn't matter.

I'd really like to see someone try to fit a 250 in a Deuce. Think an A3 looks funny just imagine a Deuce with a long nose........

I learned to never use my thumbs inside the steering wheel riding with someone at Haspin. After watching the wheel spin hitting a rut I saw what it would do.
