The thing is, seat belts being safer or not is not a matter of opinion. It can be measured and a definitive answer arrived at.
First, you need a large sample size of crashes. Then you need to know what percentage of your total sample of drivers wear seatbelts. This provides your baseline...
Why then, did the military require seat belt use by the driver and co-driver?
Surely the military had as good of data as we do. And surely the military has the same goal - preservation of life and function of the driver and co-driver.
Given the same data and goals, the same conclusions should...
You're going to be offended....
$1500, if it were close enough that I wouldn't be sinking a bunch of money in transport. I *think* I could get it titled for about $1000, but I'm not sure. For me to consider taking a chance on it, that's what it would take.
With a title it's about a...
Yes, it can be done. Depending on which state you're in it can be cheap and easy or expensive and a PITA. It's one more thing to deter a potential buyer and lower the price.
For me to consider a truck without a title, it has to be at about half value.
On this truck, my assessment is that a...
The two biggest issues I see are the sprag t-case and the lack of title.
The Tcase isn't worth trying to swap out.
If you can get a title for it , that adds thousands in value and triples your pool of potential buyers.
As stated above , a $200 or less housepaint paint job will add at least...
Most people who don't want to wear a seat belt are motivated by resentment that use is mandatory. They then justify not wearing one by saying its safer not to have one.
It isn't. The odds of being randomly flung clear without a seatbelt are far less than the odds of being ejected and squished...
Not something that you really want to consider roadside.
And at $20/tire, as cheap as I am.... this is something that I pay to have the tire place do.
If forced to, I remove the outer half of the wheel, then flip it over and mash on the tire with a forklift. Seating them is well within the...
For changing a tire on the road what i want to have along -
1) a couple of jacks, 20ton preferred. 8ton will do.
2) geared lug wrench.
3) cribbing.
4) breaker bar with cheater pipe and socket.
You can get by on less. But this is what I want to have.
Where you'll run into problems is...
l like the military issue geared lug wrench. No jerking. Just an extreme amount of torque and off they go.
The trucks don't make enough air to run air tools.
Electrics are generally too puny to rely on them. And can fail.
