I have put about $600 into one of mine so far in the last 3 months just in stuff to keep it running, not to fix any breaks. I'd say if you can't just walk in and put down $2-6k on a toy and start spending money after that maybe you should look at a jeep. Big MVs are no the most expensive hobby...
