I think the first thing to do is determine how much of a step your wife can tolerate before designing a solution. If she ambulatory and just needs smaller riser steps you may have to make some with a longer run.

That is without a doubt some of the dumbest guilt by association crap I have ever heard.
I would try calling back to see if you can find a more sympathetic ear. Maybe try asking for a supervisor other than that I can't think if much.

After working on my #2 truck and needing to rebuild the brakes on #1 truck and I need to work on my newly acquired 5-ton tractor I'd think about it long an hard.

Technically speaking they are locking rims, not split rims. There is a difference and Gimp got on me for calling them split.........
I guess they are not as dangerous but I wouldn't want to mess with them. :-)

I have one of the 2002 rebuild from WPAFB from a few weeks ago. Overall it looks good but at least one head gasket needs replaced and it has a knock in it that could be an injector or a rod.
Looking at them is one thing, hearing them run or driving them is another.
