The perception is there that the hmmwv are not currently eligible to be titled and tagged at all. This would then allow a limited title and registration where none is currently permitted.
I do not assert that this is the case. Others will.
I am. The construction company that uses a 5ton fitted with a water tank, who has currently registered it as a commercial vehicle and complied with all those requirements, will be forced to stop using it or face criminal charges.
The overland crowd, who have substantially modified their LMTVs...
Looks to me like that very narrow definition are the only vehicles subject to the limitations in the bill.
The rest of the FMVs would not be titled or tagged as special interest - they'd simply be treated as normal vehicles.
This bill gives a little something to the hmmwv owners... (far too little IMHO).
And in return severely restricts the use of all the other FMV's. The primary meat of the bill is to impose restrictions.
I don't see why any MV enthusiast would support it.
Thank you all for the kind words.
Welds are like handwriting - mos68x did some and I did some. Looking at the posted pics, it's immediately obvious to me which ones are mine. Miniscule differences in rod angle transitions and similar subtleties sum to a personal style.
A similar effect comes...
Interesting.
They're dead wrong about the EUC stating it's for off road only. The Hold harmless agreement is only for hmmwv's.
However based on wrong info, their conclusion is clear enough: "do not register former military vehicles."

I'll add that by reducing peak combustion temperature an EGR actually greatly increases the amount of particulate carbon produced. This is why you see them in combination with a DPF. The DPF is required to remove the particulates.
Consider, we go to quite a bit of trouble to provide the engine...
It's this horrible white stuff that falls from the sky.
Then to add injury to insult, someone came up with the brilliant idea of adding salt to it to facilitate the maximum rate of corrosion...
I'll put eyes on mine tomorrow or Tuesday and confirm one way or the other unless someone else beats me to it. Like you , I was under the impression that they were the same as the 5ton trucks...
Oh and I’m also the guy who if your blue hid obnoxious headlights hurt my eyes, I wait until you’re about 25’ from me and I pull brights. g.
Interesting. Is this operating on the principle that two blinded drivers is safer than one?
