My longest trip was 350 miles but it took days to get the smile off my face when I got home.
I thought the ride was better than in my 2004 Dodge 1500 4x4.
I use David Clark ear protection just like I used in the Navy.
I'd like to drive one of mine to work but I'm not sure how the college would like it. Too many "kids" with viewpoints that oppose mine that wouldn't like it. Plus the fact that they will walk out in front of you without looking.
Hmm now that I think about maybe I should drive it in.
:-)
I am hoping to go out on Wednesday and come back on Friday. I can't stay the whole time and some of my plans changed with the Boss about 15 minutes ago.

Never heard of that one before. I have no way to test putting a towel on a chain and forcing a failure. I'd hate to think of what it would take to get any of my chains to fail nor would I want to be there if they did. :-D
I think I would use it exactly they way it is designed. My Brother uses chains for pulling anything since the chain will lose its energy quickly and die rather than whip through the air hitting everything in its path if it breaks. I remember the videos I had to watch in the Navy about carrier...
My gut tells me you are probably correct. I wasn't there so if the safety officer of the outfit says he invented it I don't have a way to dispute the claim. Still looks a good tool though and should be easy enough to make. I made an extraction tool in the Navy that was distributed to all the...
I found this rather interesting today in one of my briefing e-mails. It just shows the necessity is the mother of all inventors. Field Life-saver: 10th Mountain Division Invents “The Rat Claw” They company is waiting for a patent on it. Rat Claw info PDF...
My Dad dug ditches on the side with a Ditch Witch trencher and he did it for about 30 years (although he is gone we still have one of his trenchers). I can remember he and I were digging in a new subdivision and the power company had it marked and said go for it. Dad started digging and has a...
Welcome to the site.
I have two trucks and four trailers right now and I'm pretty easy to find in Dayton.
Good thing it's winter, I think I am going to have to have my left shoulder rebuilt. :-(
My Brother used a Deuce about a year to tow his Case 580B until he could get bigger truck and engine combo.
He said his top speed was about 45 on flat level ground. The trailer had brakes with a 12volt controller in the cab.
YMMV
