I went and bought kipman's deuce from him the week he posted it. It's my second one and I drove her home from his farm in Eastern Ohio over to my place in Dayton, about 120 miles.
I have never had so many people wave at me on the way home. I don't know if they thought I was military or they...
Finally got my quote from Gulfway. Due to the way Ohio handles insurance they base your liability on your current vehicle insurance. All they could give me was $100k liability.
So, I got full coverage with a value of $5,000 and a $1,000 deductible for $176/year.
Works for me.
Good tip on...
I just waited until she gone for a weekend and brought my second truck home and parked it next to the other one and she didn't even notice until I told her. By then it was too late. :-)
You are lucky then. I e-mailed them and talked to them on the phone and both ways it was the same, no garage, no insurance. Period, no exceptions.
Makes me wonder how they can do yours and not mine.
Mystery of the universe I guess.
steve
I tried State Farm with no luck, Hagerty wanted it garaged and even though my new building goes up next month there are no exceptions, Geico wants $41/month and Gulfway is supposed to send me a quote Monday.
We'll see.
If I manage to get everything converted to farm use I can get insurance...
Interesting tips. Always get great info on the site.
I went out and drove one of Deuces around the fields and went I went to park it I noticed that the brake pedal went to the floor. I guess that's nature's way of telling me to do some brake work.

Here is the response on pricing for the DUKWs they have left.
###############
I have approximately 25 dukws in stock for sale. These prices do not reflect any one particular dukw. They are just a reference on what dukws in different conditions go for.
I have many dukws that fall between the...
Okay, you piqued my interest and I contacted the place in Dayton that had the DUKWs. I am waiting to hear back from them now.
Gonna have to dig a bigger pond...........
;-)
David,
I'm thankful every day when I look outside and see my trucks parked there. I thank myself and all the other vets especially my late Father who served ib the so-called police action in a certain neck of the woods you happen to be in right now.
Been there with the Kitty Hawk and hit the...
I can do a Friday, Sat, Sun road trip and already have a support driver lined up for my Dodge Hemi 4x4 loaded with tools.
If you were headed east to I-75 I have 18 acres of storage space to park them a few miles off of I-70. (That goes for anyone needing a place to park or needing help on this...
Bill,
After driving two of them home in the last three months I think I'm qualified to move one forward for you.
Just give us a date and we will see if it works out. I have a trip out at the end of Sept but other than that we can try and work out a convoy.
Sounds like fun.
:-)
steve
That explains where all the trucks went. :-)
I don't feel all that safe driving a normal vehicle up and down I-75 let alone a deuce. Although I drove mine home 350 miles on four different interstates I'm not sure I would do it again.
Pick a large state route heading north. You could take 40...
I would suggest you wait two or three days and keep checking the site. Since I have been looking in Jan they put dozens of trucks up every few days.
My Brother was over there and said he didn't think they would be selling out soon...
