The auto transmission in the 939series is not a plus.
The power steering is.
$5k will no longer get a decent 939series truck. Even nonrunners are bringing more than that at auction.
Screenshot of last week's auction showing a nonrunner selling for $9300. Add fees and taxes and that's over...
I've seen welders that will accept single phase or three phase input. (XMT 304 I think)
I have not seen electric motors that will accept both.
I watch and learn....
Seems like a lot of work for 6.5% difference in top speed, or a 6.5% difference in rpm at a given speed.
What am I missing?
Edit - when I posted this i didn't see the 4 or 5 posts towards the bottom of the first page. I don't know if I missed them, or if somehow they weren't displayed.
My...
All CUCVs are not created equal. We have the OP who mentioned in the first post that his is an M1009. Same guy a few posts later starts considering 35's.
M1009 + 35's in real offroad environment = badness. Thought I'd call his attention to that.
Especially in the context of other posters...
Needs hauled, not driven. It runs and drives, so it can probably be driven onto your trailer. Weight is about 23k. Brakes INOP. Towbar is an option.
Timeline next week or the week after. Looks like about 500 miles.
$600 anyone? I've also got stuff to trade...
The default option is I go after...
Speaking from personal experience, it varies by state. OK charged for 14 months of late fees for the one it took so long to get the paperwork on.
Other states have specific exceptions from late fees written into law for former military vehicles.
Two approaches :
1) this is *better* than a slantback. It doesn't leak or rattle and it provides ROPS. All while cosmetically looking slantbackish....
2) I don't want to sink the $$ into a real slantback so I made this thing that superficially looks like it might be a slantback when looked at...
May as well use DOM tubing and also add a cross piece. Then tie it all to the frame and have ROPS.
I suspect once you have a competent fab shop do the steel, and a professional canvas place do the canvas, that it really wouldn't be all that cheap.
And the snobs would still look down their...
The OEM military slave cables are 2/0. The slave plugs are rated 500 amps. And yes, they all heat up. The TM gives instructions of so many 15 second cranks, then you have to let them cool.
My primary welding leads are 2/0. Stick welding at 140 amps doesn't get them warm, welding as fast as you...
Radio said wind speeds were 70mph in the storm i was in and it didn't roll, but felt like it might.
A box starting from the rear of the bed and replacing the bed and the cab up to the firewall. Door on the back only.
I was mostly kidding about the HET and tracked armor, but for what it would...
That ampacity chart is for continuous duty.
For brief periods 2/0 can carry much more than that. Cranking the NH250 will pull 600-1000amps and heat up 2/0 slave cables to a very pronounced degree. To the point that you have to stop and let them cool.
I question your 60amp number. Is that a...
