High/Low is the lever near the seat.
The front wheel drive is either a lever on the dash (air shift) or a sprag (does it by itself - no manual activation required).
Popping out of low range isn't normal.
I doubt the 809 to 939 comparison has a clear winner either way. Presuming we have the same wheels/tires, the differences should be negligible.
A bigger difference would be cargo truck to truck tractor, where the shorter wheelbase makes a difference in high centering. Or a winch truck vs...
This refers to the number of bolts holding the two wheel halves together. Most of what you see at auction is 12 bolt wheels, with the occasional 24bolt.
More bolts = more even load= less prone to failure.
You see the same thing in the bigger truck world if you compare 5ton combat rims to lmtv...
Agreed.
But if not maintained, the failure is sudden and catastrophic - (first post, last paragraph)

My read of the OH law looks like it'll be a no go in OH. But then, I'm neither a lawyer nor do I live in OH.
S.502, your PM is full.
Tomorrow is no longer possible. GL won't take appointments on this short notice.
Also, be aware Ft Riley tends to be sticklers about the 10 day timeframe.
Agreed. Rustoleum is only appropriate for use over faded but otherwise intact CARC. (Note I placed a caveat as not a fit for your purposes)
I think Behr is the choice for what you're doing. It'll adhere better than CARC....
Yes and no.
When they work, which is 99.9999% of the time, they work fine and stop you just fine.
But they're a single point of failure. When they don't work, they don't work at all. Downshifting and locking up a park brake isn't all that effective at a panic stop.
Air brakes are a HUGE...
There's got to be a cheaper way to get a t-case and axles than to take a running driving dumptruck apart. Unless the rest of it is just held together with rust....
Consider selling to dumptruck intact and buying a 939series cargo truck to cannibalize. You may end up with a good deal of $$ left...
