Go test drive one... description just doesn't do it justice.
And I mean that both ways it can be taken.
Edit - I probably drive these things more than any 10 people i know (unless you count simp). In the past few months I've done Tucson to KS, Chicago to Albuquerque, and numerous other trips...
The military uses these trucks differently than we do. They spec them out with copious amounts of reserve power to be able to run equipment and still be able to start the truck.
It isn't just a matter of cranking amps. It's also amp hours.
With the stock setup, using hawker milspec...
Good is good.
Cheap is good.
Both good and cheap is even better.
I see no harm in anything short of cutting on it. Anything else is fairly easily reversed. I look forward to pics....
I recommend the dual fuel mod.
I don't recommend a turbo. The NH250 lacks the oils squirters needed for it.
That said, I've got an M818 with turbo, and I'll be driving it up I-35 sometime in the next few weeks. You're welcome to look and see how the turbo was added..
Different axles and hubs. The cheapest way to add CTIS to your truck would be to sell it and buy an A2...
Edit - just get a glad hand with an air chuck. $40 and done... and it won't sabotage you going down the road.
You've been told wrong.
M934 will get 4-6mpg.
Also, it's not a 5-6 ton truck. It weighs 29,900 empty, closer to 15 tons.
The M934A2 with the 8.3 turbodiesel wI'll get slightly better fuel economy, but I don't think you'll see 9mpg out of it.
When I went to pick up from NC last year I learned that Camp Lejeune GP is only open on Thursdays and only at 0800. Possibly (hopefully) it has changed since then.
I used cordless magnetic tow lights. Stuck them to the rear bumper thingy.
Empty, the tongue weight won't be excessive. I don't remember what it is.
Go slow, leave plenty of room to maneuver and brake. And keep in mind you're illegal...
