Mine did the same thing. I had an extra toggle switch with me, so I put it between the brake light input to the controller. Now, on a hill, I reach down and turn it off if I need the 4 ways.
A diode is the correct fix.
Clean it and replace the drain if needed. You did turn it the correct direction, right? Look close or try both ways!
It's a standard pipe thread drain cock. You can get a Tee handled drain at an Ace Hardware(or whatever chain store you have locally)...
Look under your alternator.
The short white stone filters are washable/reusable.(for the primary filter only)
The filter position should be obvious if you looked at the -20P TM.
The pickup has to be in the very middle of the alt(in the line of the two halves). Where is yours?
You also need to calibrate it. (I've posted all this in another tach thread)
Well, both wires spark at the same time. So it must be the wire on that side or the plug.
Are you sure the intake manifold is not plugged with something? Or is the exhaust plugged?
Did you do a compression test on the bad cyl?
Both cyls share spark and and fuel. You have a problem with the bad cyl. Maybe a bad valve or rings or headgasket or stuck lifter.
