Here ya go.
You can see where the 'bar' bolted in place by the missing holes. I also have a shackle flip witch slightly complicated the install, but still works. there is a harness on mine that wasn't plugged into anything. There i found the brakes and signals. I had to get the reverse from the...
Couple updates.
I installed a Curt 13401 Trailer hitch the other day. I did not have to cut anything to make it fit, however, i did have to remove that 2' long bar that runs along the bottom of the bumper.
I was worried it would look a bit odd having a hitch below to pintle, but its not that...
I have a lot of build photos, I look through them, didn't find any of the dash. Sorry
It wasn't that hard though, I used a 3M fiberglass kit.
Off the top of my head, I remember I scuffed up the pad, used a razor to cut out some of the worst parts around the crack.
I think I use some kind of...
I probably put in at least 4 maybe 5 , 8 hours days. I though 2 was going to be plenty. In my defense, I spent a lot of time looking through wiring diagrams, tracing the vacuum lines, figuring out where the outside air actuator goes lol. Then at the end, my blower would only work on high, took a...
My 'corona' project has been to install A/c in the m1009.
I have seen quite a few posts here of people asking about a/c, a few post of members installing an aftermarket kits...I may have missed it, but i never saw a factory civi a/c installed on a m1009.
Anyway, it was actually quite a bit more...
I just rebuilt mine a few months ago, If the window is up, you should be able to get in there and access the panel. once removed, reacg around behind the regulator and undo the two 10mm or 3/8s bolts that hold on the cranks/handle. remove and replace the clutch.
So I'm in the middle of installing A/c on my m1009 which involved moving the alternator from driver to pass side... and had to pause to take some time to try to understand both what has been done to my wiring harness (by previous owner) and also why?
It has been converted to 12v. Thus the wires...
Lastly, the PO has a tiny 2" filter off the turbo, i made an elbow, and attached a 12" k&n off the turbo.
Got some pictures of the new ride height as well as a few at the beach
I finally found a rear window as well. it was in poor shape, but i cleaned it will muratic acid, tinted it was 20% on the bench.
I had to rebuild the channel runs, i used adhesive felt i found on amazon. LMC supplied the crank, and regulator, ebay for the felts and scaper.
my 4yr "helped"
Next i addressed the ride height and steering.
The truck sits about 1.5" high in the front, so i removed the ORD zero rates. I may install them in the rear instead.
The steering is terrible, I am saving for crossover, however, i found there was another issue. The steering wheel was not straight...
Couple updates.
The radiator was leaking, so I purchased a new one. I thought i could knock it out in an hour, of course i was wrong lol. As hard as a tired, i bent my oil cooler lines. I ordered a new set from hillbilly wizard.
I also took the time to replace the lower hose and the thermostat.
Air conditioning! Probably more excited for this then I was over a dana 60 or banks turbo lol
The hard part is going to be mounting the compressor. My m1009 has been converted to 12v, But the previous owner put the single alternator on the driver side.
I can try to get a serpentine belt system...
Update for sept 2019
Still cant find a rear glass, I know LMC sells one, but I need all the guts, which add up to more than the cost of the glass. Haven't found a K5 at a junk yard in quite some time.
My truck spring a few leaks now that Im driving it. :(
-Rear pinion seal replaced
-Rear...
Haha, yup.
I used to go offroading with a guy who lived in the tijeras. He had a classic fj, and a collection of classic trucks and dump trucks. Looks of good trails out there, definitely less terrain here
