Sure... It's a valid test without a multimeter. Something Macgyver would pull out of his hat and it works. That's one reason why I always carry a couple of GOOD clip leads in my tool kit. (previous post) "What's in your tool bag"
Guess it would be nice to see them light up when out...
Note... While using an old school battery charger to "light up" a glow plug is a sort of simple test (12 or 24 volt doesn't matter may just take longer to glow red to white hot) SOME fancy battery chargers will not output voltage to energize a glow plug. They are looking for a voltage to begin...
Guessing not allowed, but your on the right path. Every action... opposite reaction thing. A dap of grease and no vice action. Bending or warping up a stamped pulley is bad news. Maybe cast?? Shouldn't be that big a deal. Get some extra hands on the pulley. If it has a hole off to the the...
Not trying to berate or make fun at your expense. I saw the threaded bolt holes and also saw the banged up lip of the pulley, and to that, looks like someone didn't have a clue how to work on such equipment. Bet that was the beginning of the failure. Felt it would make more sense to direct you...
Make sure you have a lanyard attached to your dentures after you get them all in. Notice the increased cross section of the coils.
They're called springs, but I don't think they are going to boing much on a stock rig. Let us know after the test ride, Tigger
Not worth the time to bust it open, but for a "how it works" could be interesting. Module may be collateral damage.
Before you pop-in the new module > check the solenoid. Should measure 58 to 78 Ohms. Each lead to ground or valve case housing should be infinity, as in no shorts to ground too...
Easy up GUYS. It's a hobby. Camo paint, I didn't see it. All black, didn't see it either. Stopped to stare at it, ran into the car in front of me. Anything is possible. What's important is sticking together to make the hobby great for all here.
I get it...There are rules and more rules for...
That's the way of HUMMWV parts. As stated, YES there are cheap or way cheaper than others. They are the real deal, and NOS. My experience and two cents worth, if you want it to ride like a truck on solid tires, these are the one's. Put them front and rear for a cheap fix for old saggy, worn...
I have the -2's on the front from armysurplus. Super deal on new -2's anywhere. Note it is a BIG step up from stock. (almost double) so plan on a MUCH stiffer off road experience from the mushy, saggy stock ones. You get a bit of lift 1 1/2". As 86humv noted you will want to load up the...
Not sure that's the exact load? pipeandwire. Looking up those products... they are fused at 15 Amps each. Not a big deal as it is not a continuous load (music /audio with varying demands) peaking at less than the 15 Amp fuse rating. Can't tell for sure as the specification are not well...
AND... at some point the 24 volt converter input (the way drawn) and maybe the output needs to be disconnected. Some converters outputs are isolated / floating. It is possible the negative may not be tied together.
It's all do-able. Just have to figure what time and money it's going to...
