The deuce supply has all but dried up. The military phased tjem out quite some time ago.
The 5ton trucks are just now entering the decline portion of being phased out, so they are plentiful and cheap and will likely remain so for about another year.
My opinion is that the 939series trucks are...
I've got temporary custody of carnac's truck. It's everything you could want in a deuce - A3 rims with 14.5's, hardtop, air assist steering, winch, dropsides, cargo cover etc. My understanding is that Clinto the deuce doctor went through it completely.
Carnac is wanting $12k for it. I'll...
Silverstate55 and I just experienced this a few days ago. My solution? Take off the spout and up-end the can as rapidly as possible into the filler.
The EPA mandated spouts have been "improved" beyond usability
I'm making a winchmount for an 18k warn winch as we speak. My number is 314 534 8447. Text me and I'll send pics when I get it done. Probably late march.

Ill drive it for $1000 + Hotel rooms, food, fuel, a plane ticket to NY from Tucson and from TX to Tucson. Expect about 500 miles per day.
73m816 does the same kind of thing and may give you a better deal.
Thanks

Please please please, get mpg numbers from a large sample size before and after....
I've seen 7-12mpg from stock 939A2s with the 8.3.
That's a screaming deal.
You may get some rubbing up front at full lock, and they'll hit the bed at full articulation.
Hemtt rims will fix the rub. You really have to push things to get them to hit the bed.
Incorrect wiring is one failure modality.
Here's another - http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/07-5-09-3rd-gen-6-7l-performance-parts-discussion/1617938-snow-performance-bent-rod.html?nocache=1455146625375. First hand experience, not me.
Not my monkey, not my circus. I have no stake in this...
And when it fails, it fails "on" and trickles water and fills up the rear cylinder. Then when you go to start it it destroys your engine.
I've seen this more than once. Not worth the risk IMO.
Rusty, I know you're a competent welder. Clearly there's a reason you chose to go with bolts instead of welding.
I am in the planning stage of a similar project - mounting an 18k warn winch on a 5ton. I have a complete frame from a parts truck to work with. I had intended to weld the...
