If you tried to look at the manuals, you would see pictures of all the parts(thus, easily identifying the check valve and where it is located.
Interestingly, I found through a military parts source website, the same relay specified with a 6 Ohm coil!

The original relay coil spec is, WINDING DC RESISTANCE RATING 6.0 OHMS NOMINAL SINGLE WINDING
The -20TM says, 6-10 ohms between wires. If resistance is light blue at not correct, replace glow plug relay.
So, I would expect the GP controller should have been designed for that.

The cables are easily found with the GM part number in the -20PTM.
Dorman makes a replacement cable too.
I'm not sure if that rubber part comes with a new cable. The pics on Rock Auto did not show it.
