The 6.5 turbo needs to be a center mount like out of a van in order to work in a hmmwv. The side mount like on 90% of 6.5 motors will interfere with the body.
The center mount turbo system uses different heads, intake, and exhaust.
So, you are talking about the safety pressure relief valve? Its possibly old, take it out and test it. Since you said the noise was in the cab and the pressure relief valve should be under the cab, do you know for sure what is making the noise?

Yup, I've had my truck flexed enough my hood hold downs have ripped in half. One year at Haspin, Oilcan's truck was so flexed, it looked like the front was hit by a wrecking ball. Once on flat ground everything went back to normal. These trucks are amazing.
Honestly, I wrench on mine as much or more than I drive it. Its a labor of love but gets to be a pita sometimes. I've learned not sweat the petty things(but like to pet the sweaty things).
