74M35A2 did a great step by step. One thing I will add, if you completely drained the injector lines, it would help to crack open the 10MM nut for the return line on top of the valve cover. So when you pumping the lift pump, the air can be pushed out at the highest point. Ran out of fuel once...
I was able to find the correct replacement air filter for the wire cage at a local advanced auto parts. I was surprised they had it but they do carry them usually.
Nice to see her coming together! Also nice work with the welds. I wouldnt try to tig weld without a pedal. Im too used to a pedal to try. Keep up the great work!
Are you planning on an intercooler? Did you cut up an old intake manifold or is that completely new?
Now just for an update for the group, as of today 4/8, I know of 9 trucks coming and maybe two more. Looking to be a great event! Keep working on those trucks and get them in tip top shape!
I think its time to venture off the island as well! Tires are an important thing, make sure to bring a good spare. I highly suggest airing down once you get to Rausch as well. Plan on 5 to 6 hours if you leave during the day on Friday. I usually leave at 930/10AM on Friday and arrive Rausch...
Welcome and thanks for joining us! Sounds like you have the bases covered. Any other questions, post on here or get in touch with me. Ill send you my cell number in a PM.
Im still going with something is broken or wrong dog bone. I suggest to find the same model 5 ton that is known to be straight and take measurements. Something is off, you just have to find it. New tires do not make a good suspension wrong all of a sudden.
While it sounds like a good idea to have adjust-ability, the axles need to be square to them selves and to each other, or your going to have more problems. Have you checked your trunnion bushing to see if that has play in it? The space in between the wheels needs to be the same on both sides...
Also looking for the newer style combat rims, 4 or 5. A good used downpipe off an 8.3 Also need bead locks for the combat rims.
I have a nice hemtt rim for sale/trade.
Post up a picture of the truck your talking about. From what your saying, you might only need to extend the straight section under neath the cab and then 90 it up to make it vertical. PVC is nice and easy to work with, for an emergency response vehicle that might get whacked with branches or...
I will be arriving Friday 5/17 in the afternoon. Ill be driving my 923a2 and will bring a 6000 watt generator, mig welder and some firewood to get us started.

I havent run enough power through the stock allison to find its limits. My 923a2 has some tweaks and the trans does great, even loaded with 16k to 17k in the bed. I know of a few people who are pushing a lot of power through the allison with lots of mods to the 8.3 with no issues. That guy is...
